  • "The pictures need up dating on Skye’s website, as they do not do justice to this beautiful lodge."

The lodge is absolutely perfect, spotless, cosy warm, comfy beds, kitchen well stocked, fantastic fridge freezer etc, lovely shower, nice snug, exceptionally quiet site and beautiful area. The site does not cater for re-cycling your rubbish, but if you are like us and feel guilty putting a bottle or cardboard in the general waste, there are re-cycling bins 5 mins down the road on the car park at the golf club. We had a lovely week at Avonal lodge and will not hesitate to return there. Would highly recommend it.

Just cant fault anything about the Lodge. On reading the comments in the visitors book within the premises, a number of the entry's are from returning visitors, which really says all one needs to know. Similarly, we would have no hesitation in returning and hopefully will do so one day. Thanks to Allan & Pat (owners) for checking in to see that we were happy and to Douglas (site manager) for a warm welcome on arrival. A tremendous base for exploring to whole of central Scotland.

Thanks for your feedback it was greatly appreciated, and as I said I am happy that you were happy. I am always happy to have a rapport with my guests and “haste ye back”.Bill. Property Owner

Very cosy snug for reading and enjoying the view, (hedge has been trimmed with two window sized gaps to view the farm fields & hills beyond). Free WiFi = great for WiFi phone calls etc where mobile coverage can otherwise be patchy depending on carrier. Loads of handy items left in lodge for you use, ie things you forget to pack, salt/pepper/dishwasher tablets/kitchen roll, accessory power cables for phones etc. Short walk into Dunning from lodge site gives access to Nisa/Co-op/groceries/post office, two pubs/restaurants and some lovely river walks etc. Enjoyed an excellent meal in the Kirkstyle.

  • "The property was clean and comfortable There was a folder with details of how to use the various appliances, but not how to use the oven."

Property was advertised as having country views from the patio and french windows, however there were no views as large beech trees came right up to the edge of the patio. This made it dark and unusable and the inside also dark. This was disappointing as this was the reason I chose Avonal Lodge in the first place. Suggest that either trees are trimmed or property details updated. There were perfume sticks in several of the rooms and the bedding had been washed with perfumed soap powder. These aggravated my husband's eczema and asthma and he had to sleep on the sofa. Not the best holiday accommodation we have ever had. We will not be returning. my husband had to sleep on the couch because of the perfumed bedding. There was no countryside view from the patio or french windows as large

It is in a very nice village with lovely scenery. Limited amenities in the village but there is a pub and local convenience store and the village isn't far from areas with more shopping options. The lodge park is very quiet which was just perfect for a getting away from it all break. If you get the nice weather it is glorious and Perth and Kinross is a fantastic area to visit.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay."

Lodge had everything we needed for a fab stay. Ample parking even with a campervan and a estate car. Kitchen had heeps of utensils and crockery. Dunning is a lovely wee place, some lovely walks around the place. Also played the golf course. Short but tricky with many bunkers and small greens. Even after a large amount of rain, the course was very playable with no water logging. Golf club house served food, was really good. Was limited hours when we were there due to staff. Great par 3 5th, over a small pond, but overall really enjoyed the course. Dunning is also close to Perth and a similar distance to Stirling. Auchterarder is 5 miles away, has a few shop to wander about. The heating in the lodge was grand, beds were comfy as were the showers. Very comfy living room, and a balcony outside to sit on. The site was very clean and tidy. And there was a nice walk around the site which included a pond. Also a great driving road to Yetts of Muckart. Would recommend the lodge and will try and return sometime.Cheers

Both bathrooms are spotless and the shower was better than at home , really powerful and spacious. Positioned in a quiet plot on a small site with lovely local walks round about. A large pond to walk around which graced us with a swan and sygnets and a flying heron !
