"The only thing, and it is our preference not a negative of the property, would be to have curtains at the living room windows."
Especially in ththe winter months to help keep the room warm. Us, and our two labradors, had a wonderful 10 days. Gardens and walks from the house perfect for the dogs
"Great holiday cottage."
Really well equipped, beautiful decor. Comfy beds. We stayed over Christmas and had a fabulous time. We saw red squirrels in the garden along with rabbits and a pheasant. The enclosed garden is great for dogs to run around.
"If you want peace, quiet and total relaxation, then this is the place for you."
If you want easy access to motorway links, towns and tourist spots, then this is the place for you, what a very rare combination! Our two dogs loved the large, very secure garden, as well as watching the two wee robins that came up to the patio doors every morning to look for their breakfast. We went at a time when there was snow, ice and very low temperatures, when we arrived the cottage was so warm and toasty for us to walk into. Very comfortable furniture and beds. The owner has thought of everything for you to have a comfortable stay, so many little extras that you don't get at other properties. Such a convenient place to stay, 5 minutes to a couple of villages either way, 10 minutes to Perth, where you have a large choice of shops and supermarkets. Go to the bottom of the drive turn right to go to Fife, left to Perth and 5 minutes take you to the motorway for Glasgow, Stirling, Edinburgh, Dundee, Inverness. What more could you ask for?
"Our stay at The Old Laundry Cottage was perfect."
The cottage is very well appointed, we had everything we needed. It was spacious, private and the gardens were ideal for our two dogs. We even saw red squirrels! It is well located for picturesque countryside but also the motorway for further afield trips. As it is all on one level it was a perfect convalescence home for me recovering from a hip replacement. We most certainly be back!
"A beautifully converted historic property."
Spotlessly clean, well appointed and very comfortable. Owners were friendly and professional too. Situated in fabulous surroundings with abundant wildlife, we enjoyed watching the rabbits and red squirrels in the garden. Plenty to see and do regardless of the weather! We have no hesitation in recommending "The Old Laundry Cottage" as a fantastic holiday venue.
"The enclosed garden is great but much more could be made of the patio area."
A table and chairs would have been nice. Kitchen perfect for what we wanted. Well equipped. Quite a lot of dead bugs about the place but I guess we were in the countryside.
"Absolutely perfect holiday home for ourselves and the dogs with everything we needed for a restfull break."
"Old Laundry cottage was a beautiful cosy cottage spotless clean all the little extras like hand-wash toilet rolls washing up liquid pepper salt bin bags all very thoughtful to be provided by the owner Tara."
The kitchen had all the equipment you could need plenty of crockery cooking utensils. Beds comfortable wish nice fresh linen the power shower in the bathroom is amazing!! Lovely secluded cottage to see wildlife not too far away from Perth Sterling main attractions. Defiently book this gem of a cottage you won't be disappointed we had a lovely stay thankyou.
"We really enjoyed our time in the cottage - perfect for us and great for the dogs!"
"Tara was quite frankly the perfect host."
Easy to reach if any questions, friendly and welcoming. The cottage is the most wonderful, peaceful and relaxing place my little family and I have stayed to date, and we will absolutely be back in the future to continue our exploration of beautiful Scotland. The cottage is an ideal base to go out and discover the glorious countryside, alongside the captivating cities of Edinburgh and Stirling with their magical architecture and places to see. The kitchen is also well equipped with a free standing fridge freezer as well as a smaller fridge, and all the cutlery etc that could ever be required. A truly fabulous and joyously relaxing week for two adults and our young children, the garden is also perfect for a toddler to run freely to their hearts content, whilst being absolutely safe and enclosed. The children (and is grown ups) loved the wildlife that frequented the grounds with rabbits, birds and even a bat. Huge thanks to Tara for welcoming us to her cottage, it could not have been any better, exactly what was needed.
"Lovely cottage in peaceful surroundings, large garden great for dogs as fenced."
Home from home and cozy, everything you need in the kitchen. Well situated for lovely walks and surrounding areas, lots of places to visit.
"This property was quite frankly the very best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in."
Peace and tranquility and every facility you could ask for. Safe for dogs and wonderful for their exercise. Good access to all major attractions and several good eateries in the vicinity.
"An incredible find - such a central location for exploring Fife and beyond and a gem of a cottage."
So good we've booked again for next year!
"Gorgeous property, stunning location with a very warm welcome from the owner."
A very special place indeed.
"Beautiful cottage, very well equipped like a home from home."
Great location feels remote yet within 15 minutes of Perth. The cottage has essential supplies you wouldn't expect such as washing up liquid, toilet roll, foil, shower and hand wash etc. how thoughtful of the hosts to supply these. I will definitely book for next year as the cottage felt so homely and easy to stay. Best cottage we have stayed in so far and we have visited Perth every year for the past 14 years! Well done and thank you for a lovely stay. The Cherry Family
"Very comfortable and well equipped with high quality furnishings"
"One of the nicest, most comfortable holiday properties we have ever stayed in."
It has everything a family needs for a comfortable, relaxing stay, and is ideally located for exploring Perthshire, Fife and even Glasgow/Edinburgh. Of particular note, the rooms are larger than the photos convey (particularly the lounge and kitchen) and the Internet connectivity was more than adequate for relaxing with some streaming TV in the evening. We also appreciated the fully enclosed garden, and so can recommend the property if you’re planning to holiday with a dog. (as we did).
"The property was just as described, beds & bedding very comfortable and the whole bungalow was lovely & warm."
We would definitely stay there again. Thank you.
"Thank you so much I had an amazing time!"
The cottage is lovely and spacious. Everything was easy to find and all the basics were there. The enclosed garden was perfect for my dog to play in. The first lovely walk starts just from there up the hill and many other great parks nearby for fantastic walks with the dog. Owner was really kind and responsive when I had a problem with the front door. I really hope I can come back again sometime soon.
"We love this cottage, this was our second stay here."
Quiet country location, off the beaten track, but easy to access and easy commute to Perth city centre and around. The cottage is well kept, extremely clean, comfortable and well equipped with a lovely fenced in garden out front. Has a real home from home feel. We will definitely stay again.
"Lovely cottage, easy access to attractions and walks for the dogs."
Very enjoyable and relaxing break.
"This amazing holiday cottage is only a couple of miles from the M90 but you feel as though you are away from it all, it’s peaceful the only noise you hear are the birds singing."
The cottage itself is warm and comfortable plenty of room, and equipment. The owner we met was lovely and truly made us feel as though the cottage was our home if only for the week.I would highly recommend this cottage
"Myself, my husband and our little dachshund stayed at the cottage the first week of September."
We are from Edinburgh, so not too far away, but with home working these last two years things can get tricky in your own space learning how to switch off - there’s always something to be done! This was the perfect setting for us. Very spacious, very clean and well decorated, very homely, great smart TV and a wonderful garden for the dog (which is very well maintained) in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The kitchen is well equipped, great utility, comfortable sofas and a lovely bathroom/powerful shower. I feel like I’ve had two weeks off work- when it’s just been a week. Some family came up to visit whilst we were there and they are now thinking of booking. Just wonderful - thank you.
"Thus is a beautiful cottage to stay."
Comfortable bed, great bathroom, utility room, lounge and massive garden, which our dog, Amber, loved to play in. Excellent facilities, with large kitchen/diner. Lots of kitchenware and cutlery. Only one negative. Very small fridge with tiny ice box. We had to be careful when going shopping, thinking would we get it into the fridge. Considering this is self catering for up to 4 people, I think they would struggle with the lack of fridge space. There were only 2 of us and we found it a bit of a problem. The kitchen is so spacious it could easily take a full height frudge/freezer. Having said that, we spent a very enjoyable week there.
"This was a wonderful property and we really enjoyed our stay."
A larger fridge would have been useful, as with the high heat we did try to store lots of ice and drinks as well as some food, and it was a bit of a squeeze. But that's a really minor thing and the weather was unusually hot. We loved the wooden flooring, the bed was really comfortable, excellent TV, great space. We particularly liked the sliding doors from the living room to the garden and had these open most of the time, allowing the dog to wander in and out and lie on the patio for an afternoon snooze. The garden is excellent for dog owners and the surrounding forest makes this place a really good private retreat. We found it really nice standing out in the garden on a night after the sun had gone down, staring up at the stars and watching the bats flying around. And the shower was very nice. Some cottages have poor water pressure and the shower can be disappointing, but not this one. it was so powerful it was like having a massage. Overall definitely one of the best holiday cottages that we have stayed in, and one we hope to return to.
"This cottage is fantastic."
Perfect location for exploring Scotland. The cottage is in a really quiet place away from roads and was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had. I would recommend it to anyone.
"This is an amazing place, the cottage is beautiful and has everything you need!"
The views…just wow! I’m really missing looking out the sliding doors up the hill! It’s very quiet with only the odd car going past, the garden is secure but If your dog can jump high then you’ll need to keep an eye out for them, one of mine hopped it on the first day but settled afterwards! The garden is perfect for dogs, loads of room for them to run around! The host Tara was very accommodating and friendly, this was our honeymoon and she had given us a card, flowers and a lovely bottle of fizz! Definitely the best holiday we have been on, we will be booking up again!
"Great stay fantastic cottage Only thing we would say is the shower was very slow to drain due to the shower trap being blocked with hair, lot of dust under beds."
Having said that would definitely stay there again.
"The Old Laundry was practically faultless."
A truly secure garden for the dogs - so comfortable and spacious and everything you could need for a happy stay. I have already recomended it to friends and we've been home less than a week!!! I would definitely return x
"This cottage was absolutely superb."
Wonderful location surrounded by woodlands full of wildlife. Our dog Murphy loved the fully enclosed huge garden. Beautifully clean, all the facilities you could wish for. Huge interior, Smart TV and contrary to previous reviews the WiFi worked with no problems. No negatives at all. We will definitely come back.
"A delightful cottage in a nice rural location but in easy reach of Perth, Dundee, St Andrews and Stirling."
Very nicely furnished and decorated, with excellent range of equipment. Warm and comfortable. Fenced garden ideal for dogs or young children. Top rate!!
"The Old Laundry is a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting."
It has comfy beds and a great TV with Netflix and Amazon prime. We loved the place and the enclosed garden was great for the dog. We hope to return in the future and visit more of the wonderful Scottish countryside which is easy to access from the cottage.
"Beautiful holiday cottage in a peaceful and secluded spot ideally suited for exploring the East coast and beyond, as well as some great walks right on the doorstep."
We loved the spacious lounge with its large doors bringing the outside in and yet the bedrooms felt cosy and snug. The welcome was extremely friendly and polite but never intrusive. Best of all was the lengths you've gone to to make the place dog friendly. Our two wee cairns absolutely loved it.
"This is a wonderful cottage."
Very well laid out. Everything you could need, very well equipped with good quality furniture and kitchen equipment. So clean and comfortable and completely dog friendly. Lots of space inside snd in the enclosed garden. Seriously one of the best we’ve stayed in and we will return.
"The only thing that I felt the cottage lacked was a small freezer, if you were staying for a week & didn’t want to go near any shops like we didn’t."
Loved the cottage would go again & would definitely recommend as I have already.
"We had a pleasant week at the cottage and the only reason the comfort score is low is unfortunate timing as we were there when the heating wasn't working."
Other than that it is a lovely little cottage and my husband and I and our two dogs wouldn't hesitate to go back (after some reassurance the heating was working). There are loads of great places within easy access and a nice little walk direct from the cottage which the dogs appreciated in the morning and evening, the large garden is really secure for the dogs and a huge bonus.
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Laundry Cottage."
A welcome surprise was a dishwasher that wasn't mentioned in the amenities. The cottage itself was warm & welcoming, beds were very comfortable as were the settees in the lounge. The kitchen had every utensil you could ever need/want. The wildlife in the surrounding area was lovely red squirrels, rabbits & the odd chicken wandering by. The wifi was very intermittent but this was advertised at the time of booking. Mobile reception was also poor so wouldn't advise for anyone who relies heavily on their phones. Other than that it was very peaceful & quiet with an excellent supply of books to bury your nose in. Would definitely recommend
"Lovely, cosy and well equipped cottage."
Central location for all we wanted to do.
"The property is beautifully decorated, spacious and well equipped, with a large garden (complete with red squirrels!"
) and plenty of parking. A lovely place in wonderful surroundings. Lots of nice places to visit without travelling too far such as Perth, Dunkeld and Loch Leven's Heritage Trail.
"The location of the "Old Laundry" is superb."
Set amongst the trees it is tranquil and relaxing. Wild life all around it is the perfect place to unwind. The interior is well appointed and comfortable with the conversion being of a very high standard. We would most certainly return.
