  • "A very, well equipped, dog friendly cottage."

Coldingham is a lovely, welcoming village in the Scottish Borders. With one proper pub, another that does food, and two caravan parks (don't be put off) which both serve food and have up to date bars, there are plenty of places to keep you entertained at night. Coldingham beach, which is beautiful and gives you access to the coastal path is only a 10 minute walk along a safe path. Overall the cottage was perfect for dog owners, as is the location. I would recommend.

The house was warm and cosy, possibly the best stock kitchen for essential items I've ever rented. We would all use the house again if returning to that part of Scotland.

  • "Very well maintained and cared for cottage."

Everything required was available to make it home from home. Location is excellent along with the parking facilities. The only difficulty for us was the wooden steps and flooring. We have a retired greyhound with very long legs which don’t work on smooth wooden floors. The extra strip of mat in the kitchen was very useful! A wonderful stay in a delightful cottage.

Everything you need for a great stay. We had 4 adults staying and there was plenty of room. Coldingham is a lovely village and the cottage is right in the centre, couple of minutes walk to both pubs and the Priory and twenty minute walk to the beach. Would highly recommend this and will look to stay here again when next visit this area.

Plenty of space, clean, comfortable and all the equipment needed. There was good amount of parking space. If I had any suggestion to make it would be exceptionally handy to have a small hand rail between the lounge and the kitchen for the older generation, but that is only a suggestion.

Sofas in the lounge are not as comfy as we would have liked and the slope in the garden tends to limit its use as a garden. But as a property, village and surrounding area in general it ticks most of the boxes and gave us a really enjoyable holiday.

There should have been some more information about suitability for people with mobility problems . 3 of us have mobility problems, the garden needs to be kept on top of . The photo of the veranda at the back was misleading, it's tiny . The mattresses don't fit the beds so got our feet stuck .in the carpet upstairs was some sharp nails stuck up so not very good .The bug bear for me was the handrail going upstairs was too short I had to lean on the wall . But the it was a beautiful place .

  • "A light, airy and comfortable cottage with the best equipped kitchen we have come across in a holiday let."

The furniture was all of decent quality and comfortable A couple of small additions would be good, namely a fireguard in the sitting room, for the log burner, and a few coat hooks near the back and front doors for outdoor clothes and dog leads. The only thing to be aware of would be for owners of older/arthritic dogs, as the laminate flooring is a bit of a doggy skid-pan. We took a few carpet runners with us for peace of mind. Nevertheless we had a very enjoyable week in a lovely village cottage.

Very clean with a great welcome pack. Just a note for potential visitors, the two double beds are very low down, so some may struggle to get in and out of them. The garden is very steep with steps so not practical for older dogs but was fine for ours. We didn't use the garden as we were out walking everyday. A great place to stay if you want to get away from the rat race and get some fresh sea air.

We personally thought the beds were very low with very soft mattresses, and the sofas were a little soft as well. - Neither spoiled the week away though. We would recommend the Italian Ice cream and chip shop (combined !) in Eyemouth and The Contented Sole pub which has great fish on the menu. Beaches at St Abbs, Coldingham and working port at Eyemouth are all beautiful. Holy Isle worth a visit as well.
