The Borders village of Tweedbank, as the name suggests, is situated near the River Tweed, which is one of Britain’s best salmon rivers. Started as a settlement in the 1970s, the village sits between the historic Borders towns of Melrose and Galashiels. Sir Walter Scott’s house, Abbotsford, and its visitor centre is less than a mile away. Tweedbank is surrounded by excellent walking country with the Southern Upland Way and the Borders Abbeys Way passing through the village itself.
