“Beautifully situated and very well equipped cottage”

Dunbar is full of fascinating history, is close to some lovely beaches, and other attractions like the Sea Bird Centre at North Berwick. We are an elderly couple who thoroughly enjoyed our stay her, but it would also be very suitable for families.

The property

Positioned just yards from the harbour and historic coast, in the lively town of Dunbar, is 5 Harbour Court.

This semi-detached townhouse occupies three bedrooms, ideal for families and friends looking to tour the south east coast of Scotland.

A set of external steps lead up to a private, south-facing outdoor seating area, then through to the kitchen, where you can cook up some delicious family dinners to be had on return from one of your many adventures.

Spend some quality time with your loved ones in the bright and spacious living/dining room, which enjoys colourful views out across the working harbour, a lovely space to relax with a cup of tea.

There is also a Smart TV mounted on the wall, for you to catch up on your favourite shows, or you can simply sink into the sofa and discuss further plans for your trip.

Completing the ground floor is a wet room, which is ideal for coming in from a long walk and cooling down under the shower and feeling refreshed to start your evening.

Climb the stairs to find a lovely king-size double bedroom making the most of the harbour views, a lovely, bustling scene to wake up to each morning.

Next is a double room with its very own en-suite shower, and a twin, both south-facing and well-presented, with bedside tables and storage space.

Dunbar is a rather popular town, offering trips to Belhaven beach, an iconic, dog-friendly beauty spot, ideal for walking, having picnics and sunbathing, as well as surfing on the open waters.

John Muir Country Park and Museum is also a must, boasting a wide range of habitats, birds and plants, and hosting many activities for a fun day out with the kids, including pony rides and wildlife trails.

Take a trip to Bass Rock and The May Island which is home to bird sanctuaries.

Outlander fans will also be able to visit the Preston Mill which is only a 15 minute drive away at East Linton.

Foxlake Water Park is ten minutes drive away and is great for child and adult water sport activities.

Three miles south will take you to Whitesands which is famous for bird watching.

Further afield, you have the cultural city of Edinburgh, with a variety of restaurants, shops and pubs, along with its fortress castle, fascinating Old Town and National Museum.

With plenty to see and do in the immediate and wider areas, 5 Harbour Court is the perfect base for a well-earned holiday.
