  • "We had a very comfortable stay in Harbour View."

Well furnished with everything we needed. We used one of the front bedrooms with a huge and very comfortable bed. The property is right on the harbour and its only 2 minutes walk to the town centre and 15 minutes walk to the railway station where you can travel to Edinburgh. The working harbour and beach are very picturesque. Plenty of places to visit in the area.

  • "Not much to look at from the outside, but inside is a different story!"

Well equipped kitchen, modern layout and furniture, tastefully decorated throughout. Comfy beds with views out to sea across the harbour. Easy parking at front and back. Walk out the front door straight on to the harbour, great walks along the John Muir Way coastal path. Dunbar town centre is a few hundred yards stroll with some interesting shops. Harbour View was a great base for us to explore the north coast of East Lothian.

I would definitely recommend it and have already done so to several of my family/friends. Added bonus of seals in the harbour and we were lucky enough to see 2 pods of Dolphins from the sea wall. Plus only 25 mins from Edinburgh on the train. Very very happy. Alan

  • "Our second stay in this lovely gem of a house."

It’s great to have some character in a holiday home, and this one really delivers. The location is perfect for us; right on the harbour. Dunbar is big enough to have everything you need plus lots of independent shops. The harbour gets busy at times but always feel quiet and relaxed. Our dog loves the beaches at John Muir and White Sands too. We shall definitely return.

The house had everything you could possibly need. Comfortable, with view of the harbour. Neighbours were helpful and friendly. Great position in the harbour, we enjoyed watching the seals. Also a good location for the high street. The volunteer arms pub is around the corner, friendly staff and their pub meals are great. Would recommend for a lovely quiet holiday and within a 20-30 minute drive of some lovely beaches and 25 minutes by train to Edinburgh.

The house was beautifully furnished and in a great location. Local amenities and the harbour and coast were a very short walk away. We had a lovely relaxing break and found parts of the coastal footpath and John Muir Way to be accessable by cross country wheelchair.

  • "We had a great holiday, I think the only negative with there being 6 of us, was the fact there wasn’t somewhere outside to sit, unless we went to sit on a nearby bench in the harbour or went for a walk."

With the teenagers playing games in the lounge it didn’t really leave much elsewhere to relax in the evenings. We loved the views and the area and the seagulls did wake us our first night, squawking on our chimney, but it made this part of the experience of holidaying on the seaside. We even managed to swim in the sea a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the coasteering experience and Fox fall near by. Great memories made forever!

  • "Very good location with PART views of harbour."

Clean with everything you require. Unfortunately this does not include lounge comfort, the settees shown in the photographs are not as comfortable as suggested and certainly not enough seating ( other than dining chairs) for six persons. Other note - toilet/bathroom (very nice) is on ground floor,as you note, this could be difficult for the elderly.

  • "Well equipped cottage, particularly kitchen."

Not many holiday rentals are so well-equipped - e.g. several sieves and a colander, silicon spatulas (2 - every kitchen should have at least one!), sharp knives, egg cups. 'Nest' control slightly challenging! Clearer instructions on all recycling e.g. food caddy, which we don't do locally to us. Only after local advice did we find out about caddy liner - and washed out the caddy!

  • "Three generations of our family thoroughly enjoyed the cottage."

Lots of unexpected attention to detail in the cottage. Marie-Clare the owner met us on our arrival & was very helpful in suggesting visits the grandchildren might like. Our daughter made very good use of the leisure centre in the evenings. The kitchen is really well equipped for a self catering holiday. The beds are very comfy. We looked forward to spotting the seals in the harbour every tea time. The view of the harbour is wonderful. The location of the cottage is ideal for visits to the John Muir Country Park, the East Links children's adventure park, Paxton House and Newhailles Scottish Trust property near Musselburgh. The choldren really enjoyed the two children's parks in Dunbar itself.

Beds were super comfy and the house as cosy as you wanted it to be with a very modern “nest “heating system. The location is great, right at the harbour, where there is always something going on and a short walk to the East beach which is great for looking in rock pools! There are lovely independent shops on the high street and plenty cafes to choose from. There was plenty for us to do in the locality : walks to Belhaven beach and the East Beach. There is a great modern pool and leisure centre close to the harbour so it’s worth packing your swimming things. Overall, we enjoyed this house and Dunbar very much.
