The property

Set peacefully within its own grounds, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with fabulous 360 degree views stretching for miles over the rural landscape around it.

This property is on the lower slopes of the Long Mynd, (owned by the National Trust), and between the delightful towns of Church Stretton and Bishops Castle with the oldest licensed brewery in the country!

And the attractive hill-top village of Wentnor is less than a mile away, with 2 country pubs and a village shop.

There are a number of other great country pubs in nearby villages, as well as some excellent restaurants in the area, including The Coach House, in nearby Norbury.

Amazing walking straight from the doorstep in every direction, including the Shropshire Way.

Offa’s Dyke and the Welsh border are also within easy reach, as are the beautiful towns of Ludlow and Shrewsbury, offering a multitude of attractions to suit all tastes and the famous Ironbridge Gorge, birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, a World Heritage Site, with 10 museums and year-round special events.

The Shropshire gliding club, on top of the Long Mynd, offers flying experiences, gliding courses and on-site cafe you will often see gliders and hang-gliders silently floating in the sky, alongside the red kites!

Ideal for families and friends, this detached cottage enjoys a wonderful finish, being newly renovated, with central heating and double-glazing throughout.

Enjoy all the benefits of a spacious, comfortable, open-plan interior, with a separate utility room and cloakroom.

The sitting area is presented to a quality standard, with comfortable sofas, a wood-burning stove, TV with Sky and Netflix, (but out of sight in a cupboard when not in use), and a Bluetooth Hi-fi/DAB system.

The dining area, which can seat up to 10 people, has panoramic windows on 3 sides, so you can look out for miles over the tranquil surroundings.

The tastefully presented kitchen is fully fitted, with all you need for your stay, including integral double oven and hob, dishwasher, and large fridge.

The utility/cloakroom has a large freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, traditional clothes airer, and Belfast sink.

There is also a separate WC.

The ground floor is completed by a shower room, with a large walk-in shower, WC, double vanity unit, and large heated towel rail.

The carpeted stairs from the entrance hall lead to three double bedrooms, each with a king-size bed, and enjoying those far-reaching views and quality furnishings, as well as the second shower room, with walk-in shower, vanity unit and WC.

In the pretty garden surrounding the house there are 2 terraces, with armchairs, a dining table and chairs, and a gas BBQ, so you can enjoy sitting outside for a meal, or just a quiet drink.

As the property is surrounded by fields with livestock, sadly we cannot allow dogs.

Birch Cottage is a wonderful getaway for a comfortable, relaxing holiday in beautiful, tranquil surroundings, but with lots to see and do nearby.
