  • "Very comfortable, and cosier than it looks on the website pictures."

You need to turn off the central heating temporarily to ensure hot water to more than one shower at a time. Wi-fi ok in lounge.

  • "Delightful property and friendly, helpful owners."

Very well-equipped, clean, warm and spacious, with a lovely garden. Useful porch for wet footwear. The only minor drawback is the flaky internet connection, which I guess is beyond the owners' control.

  • "Such a fantastic property in a beautiful location."

Suited our family structure perfectly with the grandparents having the whole upstairs floor to their selves! We loved the log burner to create a cosy relaxing feel in the evening and the beds were so comfortable. The many bathrooms were a godsend although the hot water pressure didn't cope well with both showers bring on at the same time but it wasn't an issue for us. The Internet couldn't be accessed far from the living room but again it wasn't a bad thing as it meant more family time and less screen time!! We'd love to come and stay again as, it's so close to everything as well as our family.

My friends and I have cottage retreats almost every year - And this was, by far, one of our favourites. Our host Mrs Prince was helpful & friendly :)

  • "An excellent place to stay, nice quiet location with good access to walks such as The Long Mynd and Carding Mill, Castles such as Stokesay and Powis, and towns such as Ludlow and Shrewsbury."

The accommodation was perfect for the six of us (and up to 8), the use of the shared garden allowing us to play many outdoor games with our grandson and lovely views across the countryside. The additional sitting room area on the top floor added even more space.

  • "It's a lovely place to stay, with great views etc."

The cottage could have been slightly cleaner and it's far from a dog friendly place as the dog is expected to be locked in the kitchen the entire stay which as far as I'm concerned isn't dog friendly, a dog friendly place means the dog is allowed in more than one room.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry if you felt that the property was not dog-friendly. Dogs are allowed anywhere downstairs; they are just not allowed on furniture or in the bedrooms and should not be left alone in the property. I understand that you were upset at being told your dog should not have been left in the property all day but there is a notice in the kitchen about this and it is also covered in the booking conditions; to which you agree when you make any booking with Sykes. We have a lovely big garden and fields nearby so many pet owners have enjoyed their stay with us, as reflected in our feedback. We also consistently get top marks for cleanliness so we were surprised by your comments in this respect. We do hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise as well as the fantastic local scenery. • "We had a lovely time at Rowton Manor Cottage, it is in a beautiful, quiet location."

It was comfortable and well equipped (the kitchen was better equipped than many of the cottages we have stayed in) and there were enough bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate the whole family and also my mother who stayed for a few days too. It was great to have a large garden and the views of the surrounding countryside were lovely. We visited Ludlow, Church Stretton, Bishops Castle, Shrewsbury and the Long Mynd, all places we know well already. Our recommendations are Price & Sons bakery in Ludlow, which bakes bread the traditional way, and Ginger & Co coffee shop in Shrewsbury, for their delicious cakes - they also provide the cake for the Booka bookshop cafe in Oswestry, another place worth visiting.

We had a 3 and 6 year old with us who loved the large garden as did the dog. There was plenty of living space for 5 adults and 2 children and we disnt feel on top of each other over the week. Excellent area to be based in.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay."

Ideally located close to Ludlow and handy for supermarket shopping in Craven Arms. The owner kindly allowed us to walk our dog in the fields around the cottage which was ideal (no sheep at that time). Place is amazing for wildlife enthusiasts/birders as house martin nests all around the cottage. Also swifts flying over constantly. There are red kites (once very rare) that are circling and swooping around the fields and over the garden - amazing to see! Would recommend.

We had a lovely time and its great not having to worry that there won't be something there that you need - because they have everything there! The location is great and the fact that you can see sheep from the windows and take a nice country walk in pretty much any direction you want it great for the kids.

There was six adults, 2 children 2 and 8years and twin babies 11months and there was plenty of room for us. Mrs Prince had left us a very nice fruit cake and bottle of wine as a welcome. Everywhere was very clean and comfortable with all the appliances we needed including lots of toys and baby walkers for the children . We particularly enjoyed the large enclosed garden where the children had lots of room to play. The cottage is in a good area with lots of places to visit nearby. Acton Scot, a historical working farm was well worth a visit as is the Ludlow brewery.
