  • "We had a brilliant few days at Alder View."

The property is well positioned for walking and cycling trips. It's set in beautiful scenery with a great view from the kitchen window. It's comfortable and tastefully decorated . A great place to relax in. It was so warm that we had to turn off the radiator in the bedroom. The owners had also decorated it for Christmas, which was a lovely touch. I would happily return.

  • "The apartment was beautifully presented and very comfortable."

The woodburner was a lovely feature. The views down to Ludlow were lovely. It was so peaceful there and two sheep would look through the fence every day. I also managed to see some snow for my birthday having been born during heavy lasting snowfall so that was a bonus. We’ve stayed in the Craven Arms area before at HPB Upper Norton and were glad to be able to return. Sadly we didn’t meet the owners to thank them for their great apartment.

  • "We loved the location."

Owners were friendly but not intrusive. We could relax and stay warm even though we seem to have chosen one of the coldest few days of the winter. Would have given top marks for comfort but as an older couple we found the sofa unit a little too low and unsupportive. However, this may not be a problem for many.

The views are fantastic and you can see Ludlow castle on a bright day. • "Before arrival I had been a little concerned about possible noise as I knew the property was on a working farm, but in fact it was extremely peaceful and quiet."

There is an amazing view from the main window across fields to distant hills. Comfortable bedroom with good storage. Powerful shower. Good wifi. The main room is open plan kitchen, dining, and sofa area with laminate flooring - practical but not specially cosy. Maybe a rug would help. No garden (there is a small patio) and you are asked not to go in to the yard at the rear (it is a working area), so you do need a car to get out and about. But its a good location, convenient for lots of things. Shropshire is lovely. Watch out for roadworks on the A49 - it was unexpectedly closed one night, in both directions, requiring an extremely long detour.

Facilities far better than I thought, everything that you would need was there. It was super clean, quiet and comfortable. The location was very good too, close enough to drive into Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Leominster and pop over to Wales. Craven Arms is lovely and one thing we did was visit The Land of Lost Content Museum, quirky but brilliant. All those memories came flooding back when we saw all the stuff we'd forgotten about from the 60's & 70's (there is a lot more too) which was 'our' era. Two hours 30 minutes just melted away. There is a supermarket and garden centre, pubs, restaurants and takeaways all really close by. Unfortunately we didn't manage to take in the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre but we will on out next visit. A thoroughly relaxing break.

It's easily the most comfortable self-catering flat we've stayed in. The view to the south was great and it was very quiet. Craven Arms was no more than ten minutes down the road and the local, independent supermarket (Tuffins) was vast and well-stocked. What's not to like?
