Head inside the property to find a large, open-plan kitchen/diner, where you can entertain the whole group at the large and informal dining table, enjoying delicious home-cooked meals, prepared in the spacious, neutrally-styled and fully-equipped kitchen, which offers a grand Range cooker, double oven and hob and two dishwashers, supplying you with everything you could possibly need to cook up culinary delights.

There is a choice of two well-appointed sitting rooms, with plenty of comfortable seating, where you can socialise with friends, seek a bit of peace and quiet and immerse yourself in a good book, or catch up with the latest news on the wall-mounted TV in one of the rooms, which also has a charming, character apex ceiling.

The Walton offers six bedrooms across two floors, each one with their own en-suite facility, including three ground-floor bedrooms, should any of your party have mobility issues.

There is a family room with a king-size and single bed, a ground-floor family room with a small double and single, a ground-floor king-size double, a double and two twins, one on either floor, with every bedroom featuring an en-suite bathroom with a bath and handheld shower.

Outside the barn, there are extensive grounds to explore and you have access to a shared barbecue to enjoy on balmy summer evenings.

In addition, The Walton also has shared access to a heated indoor swimming pool that you can book to use exclusively for your party, as well as use of a hard tennis court, so don’t forget your racket!

The market town of Craven Arms is a short distance away, with a selection of shops and eateries, as well as charming and historic houses, the fascinating Museum of Lost Content and many scenic walks around Wenlock Edge and Corvedale Valley, including a walk to Stokestay Castle, one of England's finest fortified manors.

Head into the Shropshire Hills AONB to Church Stretton, which is nestled between the Long Mynd and Caradoc Hills, renowned for scenic walks and an excellent golf course, as well as woodland trails that can be enjoyed at Rectory Wood.

The historic towns of Bishop's Castle, Ludlow and Shrewsbury are all a short drive away, and offer magnificent castles, riverside walks, plus a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Craven Arms is an ideal base, which nestles close to the scenic Wenlock Edge and Corvedale Valley with fine walks from the town to lovely Stokesay Castle, one of England's finest fortified manors, or the very popular Shropshire Hill Discovery Centre. The town also has some charming and historic houses, including a round house, thought to be a recognisable rest house for pilgrims travelling between Wigmore and Shrewsbury Abbeys and the fascinating 'Museum of Lost Content'. Just two miles away in the village of Wistanstow is the Plough Inn, a good local wood brewery.
