  • "We had a lovely stay at Robin's Nest, a very comfortable and spacious property with everything we needed."

A real treat to find cake on arrival and local apple juice and fresh milk in the fridge. We enjoyed exploring the area, but there is no pub or shop within walking distance, so it is necessary to drive, this needs to be updated by Sykes on the listing.

  • "This is a very comfortable, warm property with a practical layout, and was well equipped with everything we needed for a great holiday."

We appreciated the extra large bed and the freezer was a bonus. The owners had kindly left very welcome cake, milk and apple juice to greet us when we arrived and they were very helpful when we encountered a small problem which was rectified immediately. There were walks from the door of Robin's Nest and it was an ideal base for us to explore the Shropshire countryside, hills and the nearby historic towns and villages without having to travel too far. We had no problems finding plenty to do and we could have easily filled several more days.

  • "The apartment was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped."

The views from the balcony were lovely. There were walks from the door. Shropshire was a revelation, such a beautiful county. Robin's Nest is in a excellent location as it is close to lots of great places: Long Mynd, Stiperstones, Ludlow etc. We could have easily done another week and not repeated ourselves. We arrived late as we had travelled after work but Caroline still came out to greet us and made sure the apartment was warm with the lights on. Highly recommended.

  • "This cottage has everything."

It is so warm, welcoming and homely. The entrance stairs could be challenging for older folks However, this is stated in the description. For those of us who can manage the climb, the views from the balcony are stunning. Locally, there are some beautiful walks. The quietness at night and lack of street lights make this particular hamlet enchanting.

Well situated for all visitor hotspots, Including Wales. Walks on doorstep. First visit to Shropshire and I should have booked two weeks instead of one, to be able to fit it all in. And have the odd rest from the walking and enjoy Robims Nest more! Lovely to sit on the balcony, with a nice glass of home made apple juice and tasty cakes, provided on arrival. Thank you Caroline Farm dogs give a very raucous and waggy tail greeting when you arrive back each day. . Enjoyed watching them go about their farm business too. Definitely recommend Robins Nest.

  • "The actual cottage is lovely but unfortunately due to my experience of having stayed the same time another couple in the cottage below, discovered how properties not as sound proof as would have imagined."

The sound of snoring, albeit quite excessive as the guest did mention he has breathing problems, really alerted me to the lack of sound proofing. Advertised as a 'romantic couple get away' it actually isn't very private in the 'noise' aspect. The walls appear very well insulated, using some of the original walls from previous building? and was exceptionally warm, only needing one of the 2 radiators on to maintain the temperature. However the disturbance caused was irritating and quite embarrassing, as I had to alert the guest to this problem after not able to sleep well for 2 days. He was very apologetic even stating they were leaving early as he didn't want to 'cause any further disturbance. Which I emphatically stated he didn't need to do this. He then suggested he slept on the sofa in the living area which he did for the remainder of their break. I could still hear the snoring, however not as much and peace was almost restored. As I have said it is a lovely place and I only had this experience due to the circumstances at the time. I do think the owners should consider sound proofing the floor in between the 2 properties as I think it would go against what visitors are looking for in this lovely quite part of Shropshire.

Many thanks for your feedback, we have fed your comments back to the owner in order for your comments to be reviewed. To our understanding this issue has not been raised before from previous bookings. It was a stipulation when the property was converted that it was sound proof. The property flooring was fitted with mix wool carpet and good underlay which supports this. If you wish to discuss your feedback further please contact the office. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "Spent Xmas at Robins Nest and it was wonderful."

A lovely Xmas tree was in the lounge and a festive wreath on the door and fresh flowers to welcome us. If you want to get away from the madding crowd this is the ideal place to go. We found some fabulous places to visit and a couple of really old pubs in the area serving great food but we also cooked in our accommodation as it has all the facilities there. There’s a separate laundry room alongside the main house and we were invited to have a look at all the animals on the farm. It is a proper working farm and we took our dog and had some wonderful walks in the countryside. It’s a very picturesque setting and so pleased we found it; it’s a little gem. And the beds are so comfortable too. We had them made up as twins but you can have it as a double if needed. It was very clean and tidy and lovely and warm. Overall this gave us the perfect Xmas break and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it.

  • "Booking the cottage was easy."

Cottage very good value for money. Pluses. Warm and cosy, bags of piping hot water and the central heating system was excellent, comfy sofa and chair, cottage was clean and welcoming, nice touch with a bottle of wine and nibbles on arrival plus tea tray and milk and biscuits all laid up ready. Also great to actually have some cupboard space to store our food, lots of cottages we rent have no storage and we have to leave food out on worktops all week. Masses of wardrobe space too if we had needed it. Also a good vacuum cleaner so we could give the carpet the once over. Great walking from the cottage too, very important for us. Minuses. Very few. The garden furniture could do with being replaced and the cottage could do with a coat of paint to freshen it, however we are at the end of the season so this may be on the to do list for Winter. We would certainly have no hesitation in re booking or recommending Robin's Nest
