  • "A beautiful apartment furnished and equipped to a very high standard and probably the best equipped kitchen we’ve had in any rental property."

The welcome cake was delicious and very much appreciated. The only negative for us was how low the ceiling beams were. One of our party was 6 feet 2 inches tall and found it hard to remember to stay stooped. Our fault for not noticing the warning about the low ceilings in the property description. Despite that, we had a very comfortable and enjoyable weeks holiday. The area is well worth a return visit. Lots to see and do.

However the property is astonishing it is steaped in history and dates back to is use as a Malt House. It has been renovated and restored to such a high level, it retains it character and the quality will reward you with a fantastic visit. The owners are most welcoming and there knowledge of the property and local area wás a great help and we were rewarded with a fabulous long weekend. It would be a mistake not to mention that the kitchen is fully equipped to meet all your requirements and the welcome pack being a splendid suprise was so lovely. Do not dismiss the property you will be reward with special cottage that will enable you to have a lovely holiday. We were so impressed we wil return. Thank You Pete Huxley.

  • "The cottage owners were charming and welcoming."

The cottage was completely as described - perfect. Furthermore Pat left us a chocolate brownie and a bottle of apple juice, which was very much appreciated. However it is also the first cottage we have stayed in (and we have stayed in many) where so many supplies were provided (not only washing up liquid, but also laundry & dishwasher tablets, shampoo & shower gel, kitchen paper, cling film, foil, etc - absolutely amazing). The setting itself is quiet, with local walks and then of course everything else Shropshire has to offer, both locally and a bit further away. Most certainly a holiday to remember and as always, far to short...

  • "Wonderful holiday accommodation."

We visited at the end of November when it was, unsurprisingly, cold and damp outside but the Barley Store is a warm and very comfortable place to be after a day’s walking. Everything you could want is provided and the very kind hosts, who live next door, made it clear they were on hand should any help be needed. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality cookware, the bathrooms stocked with toiletries and the showers are good and hot. Parking is easy (accesible off street space for one car) right outside the property. Thoroughly recommended!

! The best equipped we have ever stayed in. Hair dryer, iron, full kitchen, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, cake, cleaning products, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid….. the list is endless. It made for a really lovely stay and we didn’t have to take everything with us. We received such a warm welcome and were given really useful info about the area. There are maps to borrow which really helped us as we don’t have one of the area. Thank you!!!!

  • "A lovely place, Pat and Gary were fabulous."

We would have liked it more without the upstairs neighbors that we could hear constantly. We could hear their conversation, the light switches being turned on and off. We could hear them walking up and down and when we were trying to sleep when they open and shut their windows it sounded like they were trying to get in to ours. At one point the child walked into our flat and scared our nervous teenagers. If we had known there would have been neighbours we wouldn't have booked. Other than that it is a lovely place with low ceilings which were advertised.

Modern fitments throughout. Two TV’s was nice! Yes, some beams were an issue, until I (5’ 10”) adjusted. But experiencing these awesome old timbers was worth a few bumps. We were one couple, but the two en-suite double bedrooms, either end of the living area is perfect for two couples. One short flight of access stairs, then all one level. Nice walks around, but not in February! Secluded, but only one minute off main road … several tourist towns within 40 mins drive.
