  • "The property was just perfect for a relaxing Christmas break Chloe a member of staff were so welcoming and couldn’t do anymore."

Made sure we was settled and didn’t require anything else for our stay We had everything required and more all the little touches and extras mince pies and wine and chocolate was a lovely touch/treat Lovely walks, taking in some wonderful views with our dogs was perfect The hot tub and games room was a bonus note you need 0.50p’s for the pool table Not far you have a farmer’s vending machine with fresh milk and bits in if you run out Thank you for a lovely stay hope to re-visit again in the near future Many Thanks Mrs Kelly

  • "Lovely, cosy cottage with some nice touches."

Our only gripe, the close proximity of next door's hot tub - the other side of the partitioning fence close to our French Doors. A large family were holidaying there, who enjoyed using the hot tub especially in the evenings. Regretfully we could hear the chatter even with doors and windows shut, which was irritating. Spoke to Chloe Nicholson at Westhope and suggested management moved said hot tub to other end of courtyard which would be much better for all.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at the Turnip House , with plenty of space to relax and a fabulous hot tub."

The cottage was spotless, bright and airy with spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, and having a downstairs bedroom/bathroom was a real bonus for me with my limited mobility. Disability friendly indeed. The little extra treats are such a welcome. The men enjoyed the games room too. We enjoyed the area very much and look forward to a return visit.

  • "Great for a couple of nights away from it all although a bit remote as w3 like to walk to a local pub."

We managed overall but one main issue we had was on the second day we went for a long walk in the morning and came back early afternoon and the lady came to check the hot tub and put a hose in to refill (with cold water) and we had to wait for the temperature to get hot enough for us to go in and enjoy. Everywhere we’ve been before our hot tub was checked and sorted early morning so we could use from midday onwards.

Good morning, Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. Our team are asked to check the hot tubs around midday, this is because guests are usually having lunch at this point, we try to be discreet in order to disturb everyone as little as possible. We will have a chat with the team and will definitely take your feedback into consideration. Many thanks Westhope Country Retreats Property Owner

The cottage is lovely and the surrounding countryside beautiful. There was a homemade cake, a bottle of wine and some chocolates waiting for us on our arrival which was a nice touch. The cottage was spacious, clean and well equipped, and the garden enclosed and private. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. I would definitely recommend the Turnip House and hope to be back there myself one day.

We did the Alpaca Experience with an afternoon tea after which was amazing and situated right next door. The house was just perfect - it was spotlessly clean, the landlady made us feel very welcome with a bottle of wine, a homemade cake (which was delicious) and a jug of milk from the farm waiting for us, as well as a big bar of Cadbury chocolate.
