  • "This our third stay as it ideally suits us for seeing family and friends in the locality."

The accommodation is warm and comfortable with everything needed provided by the owner. The view from the front window down to the old harbour and across the Bristol Channel is amazing especially when the sun shines. Some good walks along the coast path to 'Gavin and Stacys' Barry Island where you can eat at a number of places and there are supermarkets for all your shopping within 5 mins driving. Highly recommended

It was comfortable, everything worked as it should and a great location.

  • "Loved my time at Crows Nest, a month wasn’t long enough, but I’ll be back next year, my family live in Barry, so being so close to them, yet having my own space was great, the flat was warm and comfortable and spotlessly clean, the view over the harbour was beautiful and I loved being so close to all the local amenities."

  • "Nothing went wrong but more emphasis was given to the sea view to the right and there was no mention of the power station to the left or the allotments directly in front We should have done more research."

We did not expect to have to do so much urban driving to get to places we were interested in. The appartment itself was fine but next time we would choose a more rural setting

  • "The appartment exceeded our expectations."

Everything we wanted was just at hand, our every comfort had been catered for. An unexpected and added bonus was the view from the front window, with binoculars provided to enhance the experience. We were also regularly "entertained" by the pilot cutters speeding out to sea, whose sorties we could largely predict from the "Tide Clock" mounted on the wall. Overall, a most enjoyable and memorable stay.

  • "A very comfortable flat."

It is very close, five minutes walk, to a sandy beach and the Barry Island promenade. The station is nearby, so it is easy to travel in to Cardiff, Caerphilly etc. There is plenty of parking outside.

  • "This is a lovely flat in a quiet part of Barry, ideal for visiting Cardiff, The Gower or Brecon Beacons."

The living areas were very cosy and were well appointed. The decor was lovely too. If we were being very fussy, the only bad things were that the previous occupants had used the oven and it hadn't been cleaned, and we couldn't get the standard lamps in the living area to work. The bedroom and bathroom facilities were quite luxurious and spotlessly clean. The views from the flat across the harbour and even to Somerset were wonderful, and Jackson Bay, just a minute's walk from the flat was really lovely. We didn't have time to spend a day down there but there is a walk from the beach round to Barry sea front which we did a couple of nights. All the conveniences of eateries and supermarkets are about a two minute drive away and the roads are great to the M4 from where you can get across all of South Wales in a relatively short time. If you want to see great castles ( Cardiff, Castle Coch, and Caerphilly to name the main ones), gorgeous coastline, and even waterfalls in Brecon Beacons, make this your home for the holiday. We will return if we visit this part of Wales again

Easy to get to a variety of places to visit, would definitely go again in the future.

However a problem with the TV cable- had to twist it in to the set top box every time we wanted to watch TV, and it took us two days to work this out. I have added a note in the visitor's book

Despite the Olympics' T.V. was used twice for the News. We sat in front of the wonderful view, read, dozed and drank coffee and tea for five out of the seven days and have returned home completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Don't be put off by the steps we are in our middle eighties and we managed them quite well.
