The location was perfect, you felt like you were on your own but close to everything you needed. The cottage itself was brilliant. Plenty of room and incredibly comfortable. The owners are absolutely lovely and really make your stay special. But you cant mention the owners with out thanking their head of guest relations, when not chasing her tail she is a top greeter and will help with anything you need if it includes lots of fuss! Overall would highly recommend The Stables! What more could you ask for.

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to write such a wonderful review, it is heart warming and shows we are on the right path and will continue to improve the cottage. We loved meeting you and enjoyed our chats. Head of guest relations will get an extra treat for job well done! We hope to see you again. Best wishes Terry and Jon. Property Owner

  • "Our second visit to The Stables and once again we were very impressed with the accommodation."

Spent Christmas here and it was perfect - the cottage is spacious and comfortable, very clean, private and well designed. A lot of thought has gone into making it homely; with a well equipped kitchen it has everything you need for family cooking and a large lounge for relaxing in. It's in a convenient location too - on the coast and close to countryside, with easy access to the train station to travel to Cardiff and further afield. Thank you again for a delightful stay!

Thank you so much for another great review, very kind of you to take the time and trouble to write such a helpful description. Our goal is to make The Stables as comfortable and clean as possible so our guests enjoy their stay, when we read comments like yours it is very reassuring. We look forward to seeing you again. • "Really enjoyed our stay here!"

Owners are very friendly and approachable and maintain the accommodation to a high standard. The cottage is very clean, spacious, private and comfortable, with a great kitchen for cooking and a large sitting room for relaxing in with a pretty outdoor eating area. Liked the quiet location and rural views, and being close to lovely beaches such as Southerndown beach where we had a great time body boarding. Cottage is also close to historic town of Llantwit Major, which is worth a visit to see the old town and the Norman church of St Illtyd's; and is convenient for the train into Cardiff where we enjoyed browsing at Cardiff Market, the Museum and the independent shops and cafes in the arcades. The area has a great selection of very good pubs, restaurants and café; had very nice Sunday roast at The Red Fox in Penllyn, and lunch at The Bear hotel in the market town of Cowbridge which is also worth a visit to see the Physics Garden near the old Grammar school. Would definitely stay at this accommodation again as I visit this part of Wales regularly, and this cottage is one of the nicest I have stayed in for many reasons.

Wow what a fabulous review and the detail was impressive and very helpful to people wishing to visit this area of Wales. We really appreciate the time and trouble you took and look forward to seeing you all again. We hope you enjoy your next visit as much as the first, it was a real pleasure to meet you. My one criticism would be the double bed is a standard where a king size would have been better. The area is beautiful and close to some stunning beaches, definitely wouldn’t hesitate recommending the stables for a chilled relaxing break.

Ideally situated for visiting Cardiff, the Rhondda Valley, Ogmore By The Sea, Cowbridge (where we found The Bear Hotel restaurant which was very good) and the surrounding region with some very interesting historic areas along the nearby coast. John and Terri were very welcoming and helpful. Plenty of local shops and two public houses serving food - and a Chinese take-away. The property also has private car parking and a seating area for a quiet morning coffee or an evening drink. Delighted to have stayed there.

We were met by Terri and Jon who put us immediately at ease. The property is just immaculate and so big. Everything you want is there and it’s so spacious and comfortable. The views of Terri and Jon’s garden, the birds singing and what turned out to be dry weather made the whole stay wonderful. The village has everything you need, a local pub serving very good food within a 5 min walk, with both a local store opposite and a Co-op a bit further out. The Chinese takeaway next to the pub was very good (cash only). Lovely walks. Just great. Thank you.
