The property
Nestled in the historic town of Bridgend in a conservation area, is this stylish, three-bedroom home, Newcastle Hill.
Just paces away from bars and eateries, and next door to the oldest house in Bridgend, this charming home is ideal for both family and friends alike.
Park up on the roadside before stepping into the entrance hallway, where you can place your shoes and coats ready for a day of adventure.
Locate the well-appointed kitchen; here the chef of the group can make use of the electric oven and gas hob to rustle up home-cooked meals.
When stomachs begin to rumble, gather in the dining room around the elegant table to tuck-into a feast and when the sun is shining, head out onto the enclosed garden with a glass of wine in hand.
As the evening cools, retreat inside to the tastefully furnished sitting room, flicker through the TV for a film night-in and admire the warmth of the electric fire.
After an action-packed day, climb upstairs to the first floor for a soothing soak in the tub or stand under the hot shower for a rinse.
When sleep calls, choose between three well-presented bedrooms, with a king-size double and another double and a twin bedroom, all with furniture to house your belongings.
A short stroll will lead you into the heart of Bridgend, where you can sample independent cafes for a steaming cup of coffee, unwind in public houses for tasty pub grub and browse the shopping centres and the designer shopping village for big brands and high street stores.
Also take a visit to the lovely seaside town of Porthcawl for a great day out.
Visit the vibrant city of Cardiff, home to a gothic castle, the National Museum Cardiff for an insight into Welsh art and history, as well as Cardiff Bay for fancy bars.
The city of Swansea is also within easy reach, where you can tour a 12th century castle, watch the sunset on the sandy beach and explore Plantasia Tropical Zoo for an indoor rainforest.
For a wonderful escape to South Wales, consider Newcastle Hill.
Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £350.
