    “The cottage was lovely absolutely lovely Karen the owner sent me a text explaining everything up until the time we had arrived I don’t think she realises what a wonderful beach rest Bay is and that is literally on her doorstep perhaps more could be done to explain that it’s an absolute treasure for bodysurfers body borders.”

The property

A 150-year-old semi-detached cottage located in South Wales, conveniently placed between Cardiff and Swansea, Sessingham Cottage lies near the coast with easy access to the sea and all it has to offer.

Set over two floors, this property sleeps five in three bedrooms with a large sun trap garden in the back – a private and relaxing sanctuary on a sunny summer day.

As you walk through the front door, you’re met with a tastefully decorated front sitting room with a dual-aspect – a sash window to the front and French doors that lead to the back garden.

A plethora of seating options are placed around the room so you can watch the TV at one end or curl up with a good book at the other end.

The other side of the ground floor is dedicated to an open-plan kitchen/diner with seating for six.

The kitchen is high spec with quartz countertops and loads of prep space, a stainless steel range with gas hob and triple ovens, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher.

There is a bonus flatscreen TV viewable from the dining table making this an adaptable space that can be used outside of mealtimes.

Up the staircase to the second floor are three welcoming and well-presented bedrooms; a king-size double room and a double with their own TVs, plus a single room.

To surprise and delight those that love that spa experience at home, there is a separate room with wooden sauna with an adjacent overhead rain shower, an amazing way to end a day mountain biking in nearby Afan Forest Park.

To the rear of the house is a large paved garden surrounded by mature trees and shrubs for privacy.

There’s plenty of garden furniture to relax on while you soak up the sun or enjoy an alfresco meal.

For added convenience, there’s a separate outrigger housing a utility sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and refrigerator.

At the front, there’s unrestricted on-street parking just steps from the front door.

You’re also well-placed for road and transport links.

The M4 is two minutes away by car and the nearest rail stop (0.4 miles away), gets you to Cardiff and Swansea in 30 minutes.

To top it off, the area is home to some of the most geographically diverse and stunning coastline in the south - go tidepooling and fossil hunting at Dunraven Bay, run about the dunes near the mouth of the River Ogmore.

Or stroll the promenade at Porthcawl, leading to Coney beach or Rest Bay which is popular with surfers. Sessingham Cottage is a unique getaway for those who demand a higher standard in their holiday.

North Cornelly is perfectly situated to enjoy the nearby Nature Reserve with its sand dunes concealing the historic walled town of Kenfig, close to the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, the beautiful Gower Peninsula and even the Brecon Beacons. The days out in this region can be so varied, with a short drive or train ride to the Welsh capital city of Cardiff for the shopaholics, sport enthusiasts or theatre buffs, walks and cycle rides from the doorstep or a trip to the seaside resort of Porthcawl with its promenade and funfair. A great location all year round.
