"Had a lovely week."
Weather was relatively kind but didn't manage to sit outside, shame as lots of seating . Views too. Great location for many places of interest within driving distance. We were aware of the trains but didn't bother us! Would definitely return. The owner Michael was very pleasant.
-
"Lovely property."
Clean, comfortable and spacious. The position if the property makes it really peaceful. It is next to a railway line but honestly the passing trains were no problem at all. The owner was very pleasant and welcoming. Would definitely stay there again.

"We wanted a peaceful getaway and that’s what we got."
Friendly owner. Great weather. Perfect location. Very comfortable.
-
"This property is wonderful, has everything you need for a great holiday, in the ideal location for visiting other towns and villages, this was our second time in this property, the owner calls to explain everything to you, then leaves you to it, weather was perfect the night before we were leaving the owner called to say have a good journey home, which we think is great, so all in all we had a great time."

"What a wonderful time we had at WestView, this well equipt and very comfortable holiday home was exceptional, having only one holiday home on site it was very peaceful, the one exception was the railway line but one became used to that very quickly."
Its an idea base for getting out and about, we got to Wells,Cheddar Gorge, Bath, Ilchester and a few trips into Weston Super Mare, and we made the mistake of visiting Taunton and Bridgewater which used to be stunning but are now hovels for beggars. All in all I would recommend this site, Thank You

"We had a lovely stay at Westview."
The lodge is very comfortable and we loved the position with good walks from the door. Everything we needed was provided and we enjoyed sitting out on the terrace. There are lots of lovely places to visit within easy driving distance as well as being able to walk to the beach.
-
"The accommodation itself was superb with comfortable stylish furnishings and fittings."
The beds were comfortable and the kitchen utensils and crockery were more than sufficient. Unfortunately the noise and vibration from the adjacent railway line became so unbearable that we had to leave after 4 days. The building is less than 40m from the railway line and there were 60 diesel trains a day travelling at 100mph starting from 5.20am until 11.10pm. The note in the property summary saying that the Lodge is beside the trainline connecting Bridgewater and Bristol and associated noise may be heard is a gross understatement and is not an adequate notice as to the level of noise and vibration. We had hoped that we would have an enjoyable and relaxing break in pleasant surroundings; it was just the opposite!

"Overall it is a well equipped lodge but could do with a new Mrs Mop."
The cooker top was full of grease (had to clean before use) and the cleaner hadn't bothered to clean the cobwebs under the dressing table or from the ceilings or under the furniture. Opened the door under the TV and it was full of dust didn't even touch it. Furniture is really uncomfortable to sit on. Cups in the cupboard were brown inside and had to bleach before using. The bed linen was clean as was the bathroom. The Trains didn't bother us at all. Word to the owner. You have a very nice lodge which fails on the cleanliness not up to the usual standard from Sykes Cottages. Wont be returning to this Lodge
persons going on holiday should enjoy and relax and leave misery at home . do they not have spiders on mars! this is the same persons that left the lodge so dirty that it took three cleaners ( combined ) five hours to clean that always include the cooker . i am happy to have complaints that i can act and improve upon but i never act on trivial . i was pleased to see that they will not return . "The cottage was absolutely fantastic felt like our home away from home."
Highly recommended to anyone

"Like most visitors to this property we were aware of the trains running past, and after a day or two, you didnt really notice them (unless they are were the very fast trains for which the property shook)."
Fantastic central location for Weston-Super-Mare and the rest of Somerset. Owners left us too it, and popped in halfway through to make sure everything was ok.
-
"Extremely happy with the accommodation, much better than we had anticipated."
Trains, though close, didn't bother us at all. Owner helpful with explanations, then left us to our own devices for the week, but said just to pop round and ask him if we had any problems. Very much enjoyed our stay.

We love staying in Westview, beautiful lodge, comfortable beds, lovely bathroom, beautiful area, everything you need is there, even love the trains going past, Michael is a great host, we have such a laugh with him

"Excellent property with plenty of space and great facilities."
WiFi coverage was excellent and also mobile phone coverage (which can be quite patchy in Somerset). Lots of space to store all our things - a dressing room in the main bedroom and large wardrobe in the second bedroom and a utility room for our golf clubs and outdoor gear. The kitchen was well appointed with a decent size fridge and freezer. Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather, but the views from the veranda were great and if the weather had been a bit better we would have spent our early evenings sitting outside watching the sun go down. The details do mention the trains, but these are fairly infrequent and apart from a long goods train that we only heard once, they are not very noisy and go past very quickly. Location is good - an easy walk down to the coast at Uphill and lots of places easily accessible.
-
"Everything was perfect but look out for the owner who lives on the property."
You can see him walking around the property quite often than you would like.
-
"Our second visit, and again, a clean, well-equipped, roomy, bright, and relaxing atmosphere throughout."
A lovely, friendly host, for whom nothing was too much trouble, and yes, a noisy mainline railway within yards, but that is easy to get used to , and actually, for us, became part of the charm. Another wonderful holiday - thank you!
-
"West View is light and spacious inside and out."
It is not over-looked, having a rural aspect. The beach at Uphill, with wonderful sunsets over the Severn estuary is nearby. The rail line is very close and the noise from frequent trains would not suit everyone. We would be happy to return, probably out of the main season.
-
"Had a lovely time."
The lodge was clean and had everything we could need and felt private. The garden and terrace was very pleasant
-
"Proximity to main line railway was not fully explained, and did impact the holiday as the noise and vibration were very obvious."
Otherwise it was a lovely home, beautifully laid out with excellent facilities and helpful owner

We love going to Westview, so relaxing & a sun trap, lodge is well equipped, comfy beds, spa bath to relax in, even the trains going past don't bother us, you tend to forget about them, but then again they have never been an issue with us, it's part & parcel of the holiday, we have already booked for next year
-
"This is a wonderful base for a holiday and a really comfortable, well equipped, and beautifully clean and practical apartment."
There is a train line within a few yards, but we quickly got used to this, and actually enjoyed watching the trains, which could only slightly be heard when windows and doors were closed at night. A fabulous place and a really friendly, funny, generous owner. We will definitely be going there again.
-
"Very nice accommodation and facilities."
A slight hitch with heating and tv but sorted out straight away with very helpful and friendly owner.
-
"Lovely bath, and super comfortable sofa!"
Had some lovely days out, beautiful walks, very nice spot to stay, everything you need is there.
-
"The chalet / lodge was excellent."
First class facilities - clean - private parking and in a beautiful part of the country
-
"The accommodation was perfect."
The lodge is well maintained and beautiful inside. The only downside is its position, being so close to a mainline railway line. We were aware of it before we went and thought it would have little impact. We were wrong. The trains started at 0445 in the morning, some of them high speed and very noisy, and were still running after 2200 at night. The lodge is so close you can count the passengers. Although we loved the lodge, we would not return due to the impact the trains have on our peace and quiet. It is such a shame.
-
"Amazing place."
Exactly what we wanted for a chilled out, luxurious break before school started again. Very exciting to see and hear trains regularly. Ultra Clean place, up to date, Wonderful. Near enough to shops to pop out for things if needed. Beautifully quiet area to just stay at ‘home’ too. Jacuzzi bath amazing. Owner is a wonderful chap, friendly and helpful. 10/10. We will go back.
-
"Lovely lodge set close to Weston-Super-Mare and an ideal base for you to explore the local area."
Good facilities in a modern lodge with modern kitchen, laundry room and bbq. Set quite close to a train line but this didn’t really bother us and the trains were quiet overnight. Would definitely recommend this place to stay and would happily return if staying in this location again.
-
"Exactly what was specified!"
Really easy to find, we made sure we planned and had a good look on Google maps before hand! very well maintained and cleaned. In a good location for travelling around the different sites! we walked to the pubs up the road which took about half hour to the furthest one which was fine by us. Next to the railway track but the noise did not bother us and didnt wake us up at all, we slept very well each night! The lodge had everything we needed and we really enjoyed our stay there and was lovely place to relax in the evenings! We had contact with the owner and his daughter and they were both very pleasant and welcoming people! We will definitely be rebooking!
-
"The directions to the property need to be urgently altered."
We spent an additional 30 minutes and several miles looking for a left turn onto Toll Road when it is a right turn! In addition the road name is completely obscured by vegetation. The owner was aware of both facts and said other visitors had the same problem but had not rectified either.
-
"Me and my daughter enjoyed our stay, the owner was very helpful, friendly and the neighbours just as kind."
You will not be disappointed with your stay here, perfect place to relax, truly needed for a recharge from hectic life.
-
"Incorrect listing no hot tub available despite being on booking, tv not working ..."
Incorrect listing no hot tub available despite being on booking, tv not working properly, failed to mention next door to main railway line, Very disappointing, just be honest with people and list no hot tub available, and railway, nice and clean, friendly,

"Such a peaceful location, we had a relaxing holiday in this wonderful lodge."
-
"Great base for a lovely holiday but you do need your own transport to get anywhere."
-
"We have used this lodge before, so we were aware of what to expect."
It is excellent and a pleasure to stay in. An ideal touring base.
-
"Beautiful holiday cottage."
This was our second visit. The owner lives next door and was very helpful and a very nice gentleman. Unfortunately the weather was not as nice as it could have been at the end of the week but we can’t do anything about that. Nicely situated to be able to visit other places.
-
"Absolutely lovely cottage."
It was very well laid out and had everything (and more) that you could possibly need. The whole house was beautifully decorated, beds were very comfortable, bedding and towels were super. The owner was very pleasant and made us feel immediately comfortable. My only complaint was that we weren’t able to stay longer due to work commitments. We would definitely stay here again.
-
"Absolutely brilliant cottage , great place to visit, in great surroundings plenty to do there"
-
"This was our 2nd time of staying here, it was still as great as the 1st time, ..."
This was our 2nd time of staying here, it was still as great as the 1st time, beautiful lodge & well kept gardens, great views over the fields, quiet lane, we love the trains going past, you soon get used to it anyway, taxi into Weston is around £6, good value for money, we wanted to book for next year but Michael the owner has taken it off for a year
-
"The lodge is ok except for the train and car noise and the living room furniture are not comfortable and the fire in the living room is inefficient."
-
"Great modern accommodation"
-
"Great service, owner was very welcoming and helpful, would highly recommend and would definitely rebook this lodge."
-
"Property excellent, could not fault anything."
Would and will book this again The owner was very helpful. If someone requires a great holiday base then this is for you. We have enjoyed every minute.
-
"My partner left some of her clothes at the cottage, I phoned the owner & he sent them back in the post straight away couldn't ask for better service."
-
"This is a lovely property next to the owners house."
It is secluded and quiet, until the trains go past (but this just added to the fun). First job every day was to open the folding doors onto the decking. Didn't need the underfloor heating as the weather was great. Reliable fast broadband too. Well appointed and well maintained. Worth every penny.
-
