  • "We had a lovely stay at 2 Graig Cottages, despite a very mixed bag of weather."

We made use of the woodburner, cosy blankets and good selection of books during the wettest moments. It was nicely decorated with seaside touches and a great base for visiting the beaches and coast paths on the Gower Peninsula. We also did a couple of beautiful walks from the cottage door. The views from the cottage, when the clouds cleared, were stunning. We enjoyed saying hello to the chickens in the garden and the friendly cat, fed by the friendly neighbour. The owner was really friendly and welcoming. A little gem of a cottage!

Helpful, kind, informative but not intrusive. Property did not disappoint in any respect. All mod cons and welcome pack with freshly laid eggs and other Welsh goodies was unexpected and much appreciated. Being located on the side of a hill was not a problem as driving into and parking up the town centre was not a problem. Fantastic sea views from the property, and excellent dog- friendly beaches within easy reach. Absolutely no complaints and would not hesitate recommending this property to others.

It is a 300 year old stone built cottage with a real character. The hosts live next doors and really wonderful - we needed some extra wood for the fireplace and came back from our day trip at 8 and they were so kind to literally chop a few and provide it to us. We would like to go back again. Btw many reviews talk about the sharp left turn - it is quite manageable actually and not a worry. But what might help is some sort of boundary near the stream - just makes manoeuvring your car a easier for the city dwellers :-)

  • "Wow what can I say!"

An absolutely stunning view from both the garden and the windows of the cottage of Burry Port. Well worth the hill climb to reach it. The cottage has everything you need but if you do need anything the owners are just next door. We had ages from 4 to 56 in our family staying at the cottage and we all loved it, none of us wanted to leave. When we booked we didn't know if there would be enough to do with the children, but having beaches at both Burry Port and Pembrey Park sorted that worry out. So happy we've got another week booked in the summer, can't wait to return. Thank you Mary and Steve, see you both soon.

The owner had equipped the cottage out for everything we could of possibly needed including throws on the bed, it really was a homily, and I will definitely be looking at booking again in the future.the owner lives next door and was there to greet us and was on hand if we needed them. We didn't have much interaction with Steve but Mary was so lovely.

The views from the garden and upstairs rooms are breathtaking. Burry Port is a friendly village with a lovely coffee shop, bakery and amenities. The harbour and beach are a 30 mins walk or 5 mins drive from the cottage. In short a very comfortable cottage which serves as a fantastic base to explore the best coast line in the UK!

  • "Fantastic location!"

Mary, the owner was so kind and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and she recommended lots of local sights and places to eat etc. The area is stunning and amazing for dogs - miles of places to run free - Pembrey, Burry Port and loads of other beaches nearby all sandy and stretch for miles! The Gower is wort a visit and loads of dog friendly pubs, castles and other attractions. The cottage was cosy, and the master bedroom was tight for space around the bed (my wife is pregnant), but well equipped, clean and sports a good size kitchen and lounge. Only slightly negative thing is that there were no decent sharp knives, so bring your own (there were some serrated ones but they were flimsy). Other than that we will be back!!

  • "Great location; very cosy, comfortable accommodation and friendly, welcoming hosts."

Short walk to off-road (but good surface) coastal route along which you can walk or cycle to Kidwelly (impressive castle) in one direction and the Gower in the other. Trains from Burry Port go to Kidwelly and beyond or Swansea and beyond. Also reasonable bus services, so you can ditch the car altogether and have an environmentally-friendly time exploring. Bike hire available at Pembrey Country Park, less than two miles away along the coastal path. A car is needed, though, to visit Wales National Botanical Gardens (great day out: good cafe with amazing vegan cakes and large, nice, warm greenhouses to shelter in if it rains!). Oh, and the best Indian food ever at Naz's restaurant in Pembrey. Definitely plan to go back to Graig Cottage.

We were 3 chaps on an Aikido summer school in Burryport. The cottage was a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute drive to the centre of Burryport. When we arrived there was some provender to get us going (delicious fruit cake). The bedrooms were small but adequate for our use (sleeping). The kitchen was well equipped and modern. • "A warm welcome from Mary, who showed us around the cottage and answered a few questions abut the area."

Mary was always on-hand to answer any queries we had, but was unobtrusive and made it clear that we were to feel at home while we were staying. The cottage was compact, but warm, clean and comfortable. The master bedroom was comfortable with ample wardrobe space for our stay. The were were plenty of power points and the WiFi worked very well. All appliances worked as expected. Burry Port town centre was around a quarter of an hours walk from the cottage which is situated above the town. Burry Port itself was typical of an out-of-season coastal holiday town, but we expected that booking at the end of November. As we planned a fair bit of walking, this was not an inconvenience. There are some spectacular views from Burry Port harbour, especially when the tide was out, and the Millenium Coastal Path runs through the harbour, which gave some pleasant, well surfaced and level walking in either direction from Burry Port. The neighbouring towns of Pembrey and Pwll are in easy walking distance from Burry Port if you wanted to explore. Carmarthen and Swansea are reachable by a short train journey. We went to Carmarthen by train and enjoyed the views along the coast and estuary. All in all, a very enjotable break, with the cottage a great place to come "home" to. Many Thanks Mary
