  • "This is our 2nd stay at the Cwtch this year."

Ideal family accommodation with hot tub and everything we needed for six of us; grandparents, parents and children. Excellent hosts. Our 2 dogs loved the Cwtch. Superb location a 15 minute walk from the dog-friendly beach. Nearby shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants and takeaways that we used were all good, many dog-friendly. The Cwtch is only 5 minute's walk from the train station with trains via Swansea and Cardiff to London and Manchester, and many other destinations without changing trains. Easy access from nearby Llanelli for the scenic 120 mile Heart of Wales railway line. Good hourly bus services to Swansea and Carmarthen. We will return next year! David.

  • "I had a pleasant stay and enjoyed the walks."

The house has everything needed, it’s spacious and I liked the enclosed garden for the dogs. The Beach is a ten minute walk. Shops/eateries are five minutes away. The only downside really was the hot-tub didn’t work, it was supposed ro be fixed whilst I was there but wasn’t - I assume the part was delayed. The hosts have promised a small refund to offset this. Would recommend for singles, couples and families Thank you Donna

Thank you so much for your feedback. Part refund was issued and we are so sorry that the part wasn't delivered in time for your stay. Kind regards Donna Property Owner

Hello Thank you so much for your feedback, we take on board all complaints. I am very sorry that you feel that the tv is too high. I clean the property and I'm sorry you felt that it didn't meet your standards, more care will be taken. We have recently done the downstairs bathroom to a high spec and we are pleased that you liked it. Kind regards Donna Property Owner

  • "Looking back on my holiday at Cwtch ar y mor was a big catch."

On entering the property the appearance was appalling,it needed maintainance.I spent £831 pounds for a week stay which wasn't worth it. The inside of the property was homely except for the beds which were very uncomfortable and squeaky. The sofa was also a big let down. (tough like board) I booked the home because of the hot tub because I thought it could be of remedy to my body. The area where the tub sits needed proper cleaning as the window and area was all gross from build up moulds. The tub was full of too much chlorine that makes us ill.Only been in hot tub twice. It was pointed out to me that the tub would be half emptied then topped up again with chlorine for next visitors, makes me wonder. The owner was quite nice though. Future reference, I would visit again not at that price and only if owners do a proper entry clean up, fully drained tub and keep the tub area mould free. Good property, quite area and friendly people.

Hello Thank you so much for your feedback, we take onboard all feedback and try and improve our family run business. We have recently purchased new mattress for the beds and are looking into purchasing a new sofa. The sofa is only 18 months old and we thought it would soften in time. we are waiting for a break in bookings to freshen up the outside of the house, so apologies for this. The hot tub is drained and cleaned after every stay, I'm not sure where you got the information that it's only half emptied? I've looked back on our correspondence and nothing in our messages suggests this. The price of the property is dictated by skyes and the £831 for a week mid August for upto 6 people with a hot tub is reasonable for the location. Kind regards Donna Property Owner

  • "I enjoyed the stay, the property could do with better cooking equipment as it was catering for 6."

no frying pan although there was a saute pan. We took our own air fryer, it may be it something that could be added in the future. I could not find a house hand book explaining rubbish recycling days and expectations of local council (but i may have over looked it). we were warned about the bath not a problem as shower was good. Garden steps where difficult for my elderly mother. a handrail would have made this easier and safer. the garden was great for the dogs and they loved it. my wife appeared to have moved in to the hot tub for the duration of the holiday - so I can honestly say it was brilliant. The estate is really nice and people are very friendly. loads of places to walk dogs they appear welcome everywhere. The area by lifeboat station has beautiful views. easy access to shops, takeaways and if no car a train station. would recommend

Good Wi-Fi Beds very noisy and uncomfortable Bath out of action ( one reason for choice as on a sports week) Had to replace bulb in 3rd bedroom as blown. Position of bunk bed blocks access to light switch. Difficult to open and close doors as carpet prevents quiet opening and closing. Sofa uncomfortable. Great size of tv too close to watch it! Clean kitchen. Inadequate sizes of pans to cook, fridge small and only a freezer compartment in fridge.Had to purchase large pan and oven dish to cater for six adults. Only a 40 cm oven. No door on kitchen, unable to contain cooking smells. Vacuum cleaner had no suction Washing line broken. Broken chair in garden. No outdoor crockery even though good table and chairs outside. NO WELCOME PACK ALTHOUGH ADVERTISED.

Hello Thank you so much for your feedback, we are always looking to improve as we are still relatively new to the holiday letting market. As stated in the welcome text, we live close by and could have ironed out a few of your issues. The beds are brand new and less than a year old, it’s the first complaint we have had regarding them but will be something we will look into. The bath being out of action is something out of our control at the moment as we have guests booked in back to back and are unable to get a plumber in. It will be upgraded as soon as possible. We could have replaced the bulb with a quick text as I said in the welcome text don’t hesitate to contact us. The position of the bunks is something we can’t change as this is they only way to fit them into the room. The sofa again is brand new and hopefully over time it will soften. The large pans and glass oven dishes can be found in the bottom corner cupboard. The kitchen in time will be upgraded to fit in a larger fridge and oven, and maybe we will think of putting a kitchen door on. We have replaced the hoover with a shark hoover now. The washing line and chair will be fixed this week, thank you for letting us know. Outdoor tableware will be something we will add as we hadn’t thought about this, so thank you again for letting us know. We are unaware that a welcome pack is advertised and can’t see it on the Sykes listing. Thank you so much again for your feedback and will take onboard your thoughts and do our best to improve. Property itself has everything as described, but the knives (as mentioned before) definitely need upgrading. We ended up buying one at Morrisons nearby. Definitely having bigger fridge would be beneficial so you can properly stock up and avoid unnecessary trip to the supermarket. Very good communication with the owners. Hopefully will be back again!

Thank you so much for your feedback, the knifes are now something we have replaced and in time we be upgrading the kitchen to contain a large fridge and oven. Kind regards Property Owner

There was everything in the house that we needed during our stay, even a cafetiere(couldn't find a potato peeler though). The beds were very comfy and having the Fire connected to the TV, was great. The hot tub was a real bonus and we used it every day. The wet room and access to the side door was a bonus for cleaning our dog's paws before coming into the house after our walks and we also used the stair gate to stop the dog going upstairs, which was super helpful! Great location for the local amenities and the beach is dog friendly, which was why we chose Burry Port to stay. The house was a perfect size for a family of four and a dog!

  • "Had a lovely stay here."

Would definitely stay again. Did find random hair around the place, but was no big issue. Bath looked a little unclean so didn’t bother using. Hoover needs replacing as the suction doesn’t work well at all, Knives aren’t sharp and need replacing also, very difficult to cut with, I would perhaps bring my own next time with keeping this in mind. Pans to cook with aren’t non stick, they do thankfully clean up easy though. However it was a lovely little break. close to shops and beach. About 20 minutes drive if you want Asda etc or premier shop literally 3 minutes walk just at the bottom of the road, dog friendly area including pubs. Local takeaways are great too if you fancy a one off from cooking. Park just across the road. Honestly besides the few little things that need looking at (don’t let that put you off) it is a lovely place and I would definitely book again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed for a week and didn't want to leave. I would like to point out to future visitors that there is only a fridge with a freezer compartment, so don't bring lots of frozen food with you. The owners were fantastic, any questions answered quickly and comprehensively. We will definitely be coming back soon.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We hope to update the kitchen and dining room to be able to order a full size fridge in the future. Thank you for your lovely comments. Donna xx Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at this holiday home."

The hose was clean but basic. We were meant to have 6 of us staying and ended up with just four of us. However there is only enough cups plates cutlery for just 6 people. I tend to cook meals and this meant there were no additional plates or bowls for cooking or putting on the table. There was no potato peeler or potato masher and the knives all need sharpening. There was only the minimum amount of all kitchen utensils. Towels were provided but none were full size bath towels , the biggest size was hand towel size, luckily we brought our own bath sheets. This house was perfect in terms of location, I have mobility problems and it was ideal for me and the minor gripes would not stop us coming again, In fact we will be booking for next year, we just would bring some extras with us.

Hello Thank you so much for your feedback, it really helps us to improve as it’s new to us to holiday let. The kitchen utensils have now been added along with bath sheets to accompany the bath towels that we already provide. As I explained we lived local, if you needed anything I could have popped them into you and these minor issues could have been rectified. All sorted now though and really appreciate your feedback Kind regards Donna Property Owner

Nice peaceful road and area. The two double bedrooms were a good size and it was nice to have the option of bath vs shower. It was well decorated and comfortable throughout. The hot tub was amazing and I loved the lid doubled as a privacy screen. The garden was a good size for the dogs to potter around too. Feedback: need better cutlery and utensils. Plus I don’t know how 3-4+ people would feel in this house. The sofa isn’t very big so I’m not sure how that would work. The beach and harbour is stunning. But big favourite is Pembrey Country Park - 10min drive time! Thank you for the holiday memories!

The property was well furnished and fully met our needs. The location was superb - facing the park with the bowling green directly opposite. The nearest shop was 2 minutes away and visible from the front door. The shops in the centre of Burry Port were only 5 minutes walk. There were many takeaways which made life easy as we didn't want to eat out due to Covid. The harbour and beach were great and within walking distance, although there was plenty of parking if required. Plenty of places to visit :- Pembrey Country park, Parc y Scarlets, Mumbles and the Gower. My first stay in Burry Port for over 50 years and it exceeded expectations.
