  • "Craigluscar, everything you could possibly ask for."

Exceptionally well thought out in every way to make a comfortable stay in Pembroke. If we were able to return to Newport for another holiday, Craiglusgar would definitely be our first choice. This is our second stay at Newport, lots of interesting places to see in and around the area. A pretty peaceful town, close to beaches and central for sightseeing, walking or just relaxing.

Lovely to meet you and you are welcome back anytime Happy New Year Property Owner

and perfect for exploring this area of Wales. Easy parking for two cars. House was nicely decorated with plenty of storage space in each of the three comfortable bedrooms. Private, quiet garden in which to relax. Our host, Maggie, was exceptionally pleasant and helpful and she was only next door (which was helpful when we list the front door key!).

What we expected and what we experienced on arrival was one of the best holiday lets of our experience. We will definitely book again. Absolutely perfect.

  • "A Big thank you to Maggie, a lovely host."

Craigluscar is a beautiful house, a real home from home, everything you could wish for a wonderful stay. Very spacious, comfortable and clean with very good facilities including bathroom and shower wet room. Bedrooms had lots of storage, a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The reserved parking was more than adequate - we had a car and a larger camper van parked with ease.. Just please be aware that mobile phone signals in the area are not good and we believe the only telephone signal you can get is with BT if you need to make call. We had a small problem which Maggie and her lovely husband soon rectified.

Very well appointed, felt luxurious with Welsh wool blankets and cushions, original art work and lovely bed linen. We were so comfortable and enjoyed the garden, the wifi and tv package and amazing power shower! The kitchen is well equipped and a treat to cook in. It’s in a great location with parking outside- a rarity in Newport! Maggie was a lovely host and obviously takes pride in her property. Loved staying here- could have stayed for weeks!

  • "Wow| What a Delightful Cottage We found Craigluscur so clean and bright, even on cloudy and windy days in February."

Everything was there that we needed including a lovely Welcome Pack left by the owner Maggie. We found the bed very very comfortable with lovely bed linen and we had the perfect nights sleep. Maggie was always available should there be any queries and responded very quickly either by text or in person. The location of Craigluscar was also perfect. Just off the main road, yet so close to all the shops, inns etc. In fact, The Castle Inn was less than a stones throw away whilst The Royal Oak just one minutes walk. The food and beer in The Castle was top quality and The Royal Oak served an excellent range of curry take-aways cooked in true Asian style. The Golden Lion was just a five minutes walk along the main road with excellent beer and served a superb Sunday lunch. The little cafes and wine bars were also very close and provided lovely coffee, cakes and lunches. The walks along the estuary were super with a myriad of different wading birds made for a very relaxing stroll. There was a good bus service to Cardigan and Fishguard and beyond with bus stops right outside The Castle Inn. Maggie is a font of knowledge about the area and told us about so many interesting places to visit it was impossible to visit everywhere in the week. We fell in love with Newport and Craigluscar and definitely plan to return. Thank you Maggie

Thank you for those kind words - so pleased that you were warm and comfortable in the coldest of months. Look forward to seeing you again. Maggie Property Owner

  • "A really memorable week for Mary and myself."

Newport is a very pleasant coastal town with enough facilities for your stay. The old port and Coastal path is just half a mile away, and the beach a little further. Firstly, thank you to Maggie for being such a wonderful host and her welcome message and checking that everything was OK. The advice about the take out fish and chips resulted in a high quality meal. The Castle Inn is opposite Craigluscar with a decent menu. We both felt the house was one that we could live in! Very spacious, comfortable and clean with very good facilities including bathroom and shower wet room.. The beds were very comfortable, the dining-kitchen well equipped and ideal with the separate utility area. The out front private parking is most helpful. We enjoyed walking from Newport to Fishguard (Coastal Path), two walks in the Preseli Hills, circular town walk and a visit to St. Davids Cathedral. A wonderful week and outstanding accommodation.

Spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, great powerful shower, handy to have the 2 bathrooms, and a pretty and peaceful sun trap garden with good garden furniture. The private parking spaces right outside the property are very convenient and ample for the 2 large vehicles that we came in. It is in a good situation in the lovely town of Newport, easy access for the shops and the Castle pub which has a spacious beer garden and serves excellent food. Just a 5-10 minute walk down to beautiful Parrog bay and the coastal path. Scenic walks along the coastal path, pretty bays between Parrog and Dinas head, lovely for swimming. We also kayaked from Parrog along the coastline up to Cwm yr Eglwys- spectacular. Maggie, the owner, extremely welcoming and helpful with advice. We will definitely go back to this cottage.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Craigluscar!"

The property is furnished and decorated to a very high standard and its location in Newport, is an ideal base to explore the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast. The owners were very welcoming and communicated with us prior, during and after our stay to make sure that everything had been ok - and they certainly go the extra mile by providing little touches on arrival, such as flowers in a vase, a nice bottle of wine and freshly baked bread along with some welsh cakes. They even texted us with information on local events and places of interest in the area - so nice and friendly! Another great thing about the property is that the private parking is conveniently right outside the front window, so no hiking your belongings up and down the street from a car park (as we have had to do several times before in some places). We couldn't recommend this property highly enough and will certainly be returning there again!!! Five Stars+++++++++

  • "The accommodation was well equipped and centrally located."

There were some nice extra touches such as flowers in vases and wine, bread, Welsh cakes and milk left for us. Prior to travelling I asked the owner if she happened to know which restaurants were currently open and she replied with a comprehensive list of local eating places with opening times and telephone numbers, which was very useful. We were also contacted a couple of times by text welcoming us and checking if we needed any assistance. This contributed to making us feel welcome and I would recommend this accommodation to anybody wishing to visit this lovely part of the coast.

  • "Just returned from a week staying in Craigluscar and the whole family were delighted with the accommodation, one of the feedback questions refers to accuracy of the listing, if anything the quality of the furnishing and equipment available is under described in the listing."

This property is beautifully finished with high end detail with all the equipment you could ask for. Some really thoughtful touches on our arrival, flowers in vases, milk in the fridge and fresh bread and welsh cakes in the bread bin. The property is very centrally located minutes walk to all the shops and pubs, the Castle Inn is literally across the cul de sac but don’t let that put you off as little or no noise and the drink and food are excellent. This property is a credit to its owner and I have no hesitation in recommending anyone to stay here.
