  • "Lovely stay thanks."

A bit warm upstairs at night but think it was the heating and the lovely airy windows.

  • "This is a wonderful cottage, superbly equipped, with ample off-street parking and located in the centre of Newport (or as I prefer to call it, Trefdraeth) and we are grateful to Glyn and Alison for allowing us to rent it for a relaxing week."

We were fortunate to have superb warm, sunny weather which necessitated visits to the numerous, walking-distance pubs and restaurants, including Glyn and Alison's lovely Castle Inn, with its dog-friendly beer-garden (less than 200 yards away). The cottage garden chairs are the only items we can think of that could be improved on, hopefully for another stay in '24. A very nice gesture, was the provision of a 'welcome gift' of wine, milk, coffee etc. Also, on forgetting and leaving a personal item at the cottage on departure, Glyn found time to mail the item to my home, within days - for which I am very grateful. Traeth Mawr (big beach) is less than 10mins (7 miles) away, with clean water, backed by dunes and the pay-and-display car park even had charging facilities for our EV (4x 22kw connectors @65p per kwh). A great place to stay - must do it again - soon!

  • "The Holiday home was amazing, we would love to stay there again one day."

The only thing we couldn’t get working was the shower downstairs, the house had two other showers and a bath so this didn’t cause a problem. Newport had lots of nice places to eat, we liked the food from The Castle Inn, The Royal Oak, Morawelon Waterfront Bar and Restaurant and The Canteen. We tried booking a table at The Golden Lion also but it was fully booked so I would suggest booking a week or two in advance. The shops have lots to offer and the beach was within walking distance.

  • "Beautiful spacious cottage in the heart of the village."

Plenty of room for 10 of us, with two lounges and the pool table was a great distraction for everyone! Clean, kitchen well appointed. The hosts were very kind and presented us with some wine, butter and bread on arrival which didn't last long. Would recommend.

  • "Thank you Glyn for a wonderful stay."

The property was perfect for our needs. We especially enjoyed the number of lounges and play rooms for the kids to use and the number of smart TVs! The house is really well equipped, pretty much home from home. Worth saying that there is alot of road noise in the bedrooms at night, but that's only an issue if you're light sleeper. Thanks again for the stay.

  • "The cottage is probably one one of the best we have stayed in."

Slightly quirky in a nice way, but it has been thoughtfully put together in all aspects of your stay. Great centre to visit the area, as well as being a lovely place in its own right. We loved it. Our party was 8 adults and 3 children aged 7, 4 & 3 who had a fabulous time with the youngest wishing she "could stay on holiday", a ringing endorsement indeed. One last recommendation is the Castle Inn who have a great team. The menu is not extensive but the food was excellent, we all thoroughly enjoyed. Would thoroughly recommend Ty Morlais to all thinking about staying in this part of the country.
