There are very pleasant areas to sit outside either at the front with a nice view of the river or in the peaceful garden at the rear. We really appreciated the welcome gifts, such a nice touch. We would definitely recommend this property and would happily book it again.

Only minor issue was some dirty pots/cutlery, maybe dishwasher splash. Everything else was just right.

Thank you for your feedback; it is much appreciated and we’ll investigate the need for more salt in the dishwasher. We’re so pleased that you enjoyed staying at our property. Property Owner

A couple of small additions would be anti-slip mats in the showers and bath and also a grab rail in the walk in shower would be great. We completely relaxed during our stay, thank you

Lovely bungalow with well planned accommodation Everything you could need in a holiday home I have only marked down on comfort as we personally don’t like a foam mattress but we accept this is our own personal choice and also because we found the walls to be not very soundproof which we probably noticed more as we had a baby in the group

Thank you for your positive feedback. It is much appreciated and we recognise that memory foam is not everyone’s preference. Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay at the Moorings."

Beautifully furnished, incredibly comfortable and had everything we needed. Lovely quiet location, just up from the banks of the river Teifi. Great local pub and Poppit Sands less than a mile away. What is there not to love. We didn't get chance to use the outside pizza oven or the woodburner, but two excellent features which are a bonus for any stay. Hosts were also excellent to the extent that we needed anything (which was v little). It was also evident from the visitor book that lots of guests were repeat visitors. What more of a recommendation do you need.

  • "You didn’t want for anything here!"

Very relaxed from the moment we arrived. Thoughtful welcome gifts. Two outdoor eating areas (although weather not dry enough to sit out at the back)… sunshine on the decking at the front and a view down to the esturary. The Ferry Inn is two mins walk and the Teifi Waterside 15mins walk at Poppit Sands. Local shop has a good variety and the bread bakes locally. The beds are so comfortable, it’s quiet and the black out blinds mean you get a good nights rest. Easy to keep clean and was very clean!

The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped and I don't think there is anything that has been forgotten. The rear garden is secluded and parking is easy. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the road with buses to Poppet sands, Cardigan and many other beautiful locations in the area. A taxi to Cardigan only costs £5. Just up the road from the bus stop is the Ferry Boat Inn. This serves delicious food in a lovely setting on the river. A truly superb property that we will definitely visit again.

About the location

ST DOGMAELS

Cardigan 1 mile.

St Dogmaels is an ancient and tranquil village nestling peacefully around its ruined abbey at the mouth of the River Teifi on the totally unspoiled west Wales coast. One of its attractions is Y Felin, one of only two working watermills in Wales and retains the machinery installed in 1820. It is thought the mill was originally built by the monks of St Dogmaels' 12th century Abbey. The miller shows how the mill works and bread, flour and cakes can be purchased from the mill or you can enjoy tea and cakes and light lunches in the Coach House Café nearby. An award winning local produce market is held here every Tuesday and is well worth a visit. The village has a pub, a fish & chip shop, a Post Office, a cafe and a small museum at the abbey. There is also a pretty green and a millpond with ducks. Cardigan, a delightful ancient market town, is just over a mile away. This ancient town sits on the estuary of the River Teifi at the base of Cardigan Bay. Its unspoilt townscape and rich heritage provide a nostalgic backdrop to a thriving culture of arts and crafts, events and music festivals. Nearby is the wonderful Poppit Sands where you can relax on sunny days or enjoy invigorating walks in the cooler months, as well as exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast Path. St Dogmaels is the start or finish of the 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path from St Dogmaels to Amroth. Visit Castell Henllys, the Iron Age Fort where everyone is encouraged to learn the ancient way of living, or visit the wonderful Shire Horse Farm to see how farming was before tractors. The Cardigan Bay dolphins can be seen off the bay on a regular basis and more active pursuits can be found at Cardigan Bay Active, including surfing, wildlife trips or coasteering. With scenic coastal, riverside and countryside walks and an array of other beaches and attractions all close by, this is a perfect holiday location all year round.
