  • "Delightful ‘home from home’ bungalow!"

Everything as described, we really enjoyed our short break. Thoughtfulness has gone into providing everything needed for a self catering group/family, so very well done. We would certainly return, and for a much longer stay next time.

Everything we could expect and wanted was there. We ate in all week and found everything we needed. Having an excellent week of weather was a bonus. We enjoyed just wandering 110m down to the edge of the estuary and the sound of the geese curlew and other birds.

  • "The moorings is a lovely property, fixtures and fittings are of a very high quality and everything is scrupulously clean."

The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped and I don't think there is anything that has been forgotten. The rear garden is secluded and parking is easy. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the road with buses to Poppet sands, Cardigan and many other beautiful locations in the area. A taxi to Cardigan only costs £5. Just up the road from the bus stop is the Ferry Boat Inn. This serves delicious food in a lovely setting on the river. A truly superb property that we will definitely visit again.

About the location

ST DOGMAELS

Cardigan 1 mile.

St Dogmaels is an ancient and tranquil village nestling peacefully around its ruined abbey at the mouth of the River Teifi on the totally unspoiled west Wales coast. One of its attractions is Y Felin, one of only two working watermills in Wales and retains the machinery installed in 1820. It is thought the mill was originally built by the monks of St Dogmaels' 12th century Abbey. The miller shows how the mill works and bread, flour and cakes can be purchased from the mill or you can enjoy tea and cakes and light lunches in the Coach House Café nearby. An award winning local produce market is held here every Tuesday and is well worth a visit. The village has a pub, a fish & chip shop, a Post Office, a cafe and a small museum at the abbey. There is also a pretty green and a millpond with ducks. Cardigan, a delightful ancient market town, is just over a mile away. This ancient town sits on the estuary of the River Teifi at the base of Cardigan Bay. Its unspoilt townscape and rich heritage provide a nostalgic backdrop to a thriving culture of arts and crafts, events and music festivals. Nearby is the wonderful Poppit Sands where you can relax on sunny days or enjoy invigorating walks in the cooler months, as well as exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast Path. St Dogmaels is the start or finish of the 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path from St Dogmaels to Amroth. Visit Castell Henllys, the Iron Age Fort where everyone is encouraged to learn the ancient way of living, or visit the wonderful Shire Horse Farm to see how farming was before tractors. The Cardigan Bay dolphins can be seen off the bay on a regular basis and more active pursuits can be found at Cardigan Bay Active, including surfing, wildlife trips or coasteering. With scenic coastal, riverside and countryside walks and an array of other beaches and attractions all close by, this is a perfect holiday location all year round.
