  • "Lovely comfortable house with everything provided & gorgeous views from the conservatory."

Great location for walks along the coastal path & for other walks inland. When the kettle broke,it was swiftly replaced by the owners. Perfect holiday in spite of the weather!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, Jane. We’re delighted you had a great holiday, despite the Welsh weather! We were grateful that you notified us about the kettle, so we could sort it out quickly for you. Hope to see you again! Property Owner

  • "Lovely house, lovely decor and soft furnishings."

The conservatory was an a real bonus with such stunning views over the gower and beyond! The garden was secure, my pooch loved sniffing around. The whole place felt so homely, and most importantly for me, very pet-friendly ( which rentals often say they are, but definitely aren't).

We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay and found everything so homely. We love it there (as does our dog!!) and glad you did too! Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and perhaps we’ll see you again in the New Year Property Owner

  • "Very nice house, outlook from the back was very good you can see a long way when the weather is ok."

A decent pair of binoculars is a must to watch the cockle fishermen on the sand banks when the tide is going out. The Gower is visible from the house and a good place to visit. Berry Port beach is ideal for dog walking, parking by the Lifeboat Station. the shops in BP are handy. A little further west is Pembury Country Park which has quite a few different activity's going on some you will have to book in advance, and even a miniature railway run by the Llanelli Model Engineers Check there website for running times.

Thanks for your lovely review and glad you had such a great time. It sounds like you made the most of your visit and found quite a few of the local attractions- there are many, many more to visit …. Maybe next time?? Property Owner

  • "Our only problem found, (possibly as an elderly couple) was lack of space around the beds."

After our son and grandson left us on Sunday night we slept in separate bedrooms. Every thing else was just perfect including double handrails on stairway and a toilet both upstairs and down. The holiday was based around a miniature railway rally in Pembrey Country Park and the rest of the week just flew away on local visits. Could do it all again next year!

  • "3 stars was mainly down to the weather."

We had a week of wind and rain. The house was basic, but warm and comfortable. Excellent WiFi and good TV. Very dog friendly garden and lovely beaches. Bedrooms were small; just big enough for the beds; no other furniture except in one. Unusually there was no welcome pack, just a basket with crumbs in it! Very handy to have a downstairs lobby with WC. Lovely bright, warm conservatory with extras for the dogs.

Thank you for your review-we appreciate your thoughts We were really surprised to receive a rating for our house based on the weather -the weather is very changeable in Wales - indeed, all of the UK has been unpredictable this year. We feel the house is accurately represented in the photos provided, including the bedrooms. Re welcome pack, we do not mention or promise this. We hope you will return again in some nicer weather - perhaps try a break in the summertime? Thanks again Sue and Chris Property Owner

About the location

PWLL

Llanelli 2.6 miles; Carmarthen 16.9 miles

This small coastal village is nestled between the traditional mining town of Llanelli and idyllic Burry Port, on the South West Wales coastline. It boasts an elevated position rising away from the coast, giving you views of the Gower Peninsula, and it is also home to the Amelia Earhart Plaque, which commemorates the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, who landed in the estuary near Pwll in June 1928. The village also has a local shop, pet shop and Post Office, as well as a few pubs. Venture over to the bustling harbour at Burry Port and watch the fishermen return to shore with their boats brimming with fish, or pay a visit to the 8-mile long Cefn Sidan beach and 550 acres of lush woodland at Pembrey Country Park. Walkers and cyclists can discover one of the most scenic routes in Wales along the Millennium Coastal Path, and for all kinds of sports, Llanelli is the ideal location. You can watch rugby matches, try a spot of racing at the Pembrey Circuit and try out a series of golf courses, while Carmarthen, which is easily accessed by car, offers plenty for the shopping enthusiast. Visit Carmarthen Castle to brush up on your history of the area or choose to uncover many Welsh exhibits in the Carmarthenshire County Museum, and enjoy a picturesque train journey on the Gwili Steam Railway.
