LLANSAINT

Kidwelly 2 miles; Carmarthen 9 miles.

The historic village of Llansaint occupies an enviable elevated position above the small town of Kidwelly with its magnificent Norman castle, one of the largest and most complete in Wales. Llansaint is a small village dating back to the 12th century and is surrounded on all sides by pasture fields, with panoramic views of Carmarthen Bay. Located at the mouth of Gwendreath River is nearby, historic Kidwelly; visit Kidwelly Quay with its well-kept picnic and viewing areas and good birdwatching. The ancient market town of Carmarthen is approximately 9 miles away, boasting castle ruins, a museum in the town centre, a labyrinth of narrow, winding streets with many interesting shops, an open-air market and a large selection of pubs and restaurants. There is also a wealth of attractions within 15 minutes' drive of Llansaint, which include Pembrey's Blue Flag beach, Pembrey Country Park, Ffos Las Racecourse, Burry Port Harbour and the beautiful St. Ishmael Church, built in the 11th century.
