    There is so much to see and do, beautiful beaches and lots of castles, all just a short drive from Dalton Cottage. Would love to return one day!!

  • "On the whole a great property."

    Set in a nice quiet village with very friendly locals. There were quite a few flies about which I assume is from the farm opposite but nothing too bad. You could hear the cows first thing in the morning but it made a nice changes from car horns and sirens. The property itself was very comfortable and well laid out. Had everything that you could want for an enjoyable stay. The pool table was a great bonus. Beds were very comfortable. Couldn’t find any instructions on how to use the washing machine which was a tad annoying. It could do with a few tweaks to make it perfect. Would definitely recommend this place though. Great base for visiting places like Pembroke & Tenby. A 20 minute walk to the beach and Park Dean where you can get a nice breakfast. The walk back is a hard work as it’s uphill.

  • "Clean and spacious, generally good facilities, but a few problems."

    TV would have baffled Einstein, and I say that as someone who has been tuning in and setting up TVs for years. There was a step down into lounge that is easy to miss, and I tripped several times before we put down a piece of paper on the floor to remind us to step carefully. Most serious problem, poor light in the bathrooms. There was a light out in the one I used ( and no spares available) but even if it had been there the light would still not have been good enough. For reasons I won't go into I need really good light in a bathroom and I don't think I would want to stay there again, purely for that reason.

  • "A beautiful property!"

    Ideal for multi generation families to use as the top floor can easily cater for Grandparents in one wing and a family in the other. The lounge was always warm and cozy! Having a pool table in this space is a nice touch as all the family could be together! It’s a shame that the village pub had only just been taken over, so only open Thurs -Sunday as we would have liked to have supported local businesses.

  • "We stayed at Dalton cottage at end of October."

    Beautiful cottage and very comfortable. Had a problem with the heating not working, got in touch with Sykes on that evening and received a message from them saying someone would ring within 20 minutes, no call came, rang the next day and they said they would get in touch with the owner, thankfully it was sorted quickly then, not like Sykes at all, always been happy with them. When we arrived there was a lovely bottle of wine and Welsh cakes that went down well. There was a black bin bag by the back door in the garden, I checked what it was and unfortunately it was full with dog poo bags (used), surely these should have been disposed of before we arrived. My daughter had to also take our 4 year old granddaughter to the hospital as she accidentally slipped off the settee and cracked her head open on the corner of the coffee table, luckily we had internet to find out where the nearest hospital was. We would ask the owner to put in place a welcome and information pack for guests, with local doctors, hospitals, vets, the day the bins should go out and places to eat etc and would be nice to have a phone number of a contact in case of emergencies i.e heating breaking etc. We don't like to complain and are definitely not complaining about the cottage it was beautiful but just needs info pack for guests and would recommend others to stay here.

    Thank you for your feedback. Firstly, I hope your granddaughter is fully recovered after her accident. We are currently working on an information pack to leave at the property, having just spent our first family weekend there. As we took on the property at the height of the season it's been difficult to know what to include, without having some experience of the cottage. We will definitely include the emergency contact details! Usually sent a few days before your stay, our welcome email contains details for emergency numbers, refuse collection and some of the lovely places to visit in the area. I’m so sorry this wasn’t received. Our cleaners have an exemplary record and will be horrified to hear unwelcome rubbish in the garden was missed. I’m not sure it’s something they would look for but will ask that the garden is checked in future. I’m glad that we could quickly organise a plumber to deal with the boiler. I believe he arrived within a few hours of the issue being reported to me. I’m so happy to hear you would recommend the cottage to others and that the property itself met your expectations. As this is a new adventure for us, we rely on your feedback to make sure everyone has the best possible experience at the cottage.   • "A really lovely spacious cottage in a very rural spot."

    Woke up to cows mooing every day ❤️ Loved the log burner and the super king size bed. Thank you too for the Welsh cakes and the teabags. The only tiny niggle was the lack of cleaning stuff. With dogs coming and going, I wanted to keep the floors clean downstairs so a little bit of floor cleaner would have been welcomed. (I bought some). Other than that, it was a lovely relaxing and comfortable break. Thank you!

  • "Excellent property."

    Rural yet not far from amenities. Lovely comfortable beds and good facilities in the property. Lovely enclosed garden. Opposite a dairy farm so flies were a problem. I'd recommend a flynet is fitted on the back door. No info pack on arrival or number for new hosts (property was sold not to long ago) We figured out most things ourselves but still really handy to have a guide for the log burner/heating/hot water etc.

  • "Great holiday cottage with everything you could want."

    Kitchen with plenty of plates, mugs, etc and loads of storage space. Dishwasher and washer dryer, and a large fridge freezer, plus a washing line with pegs provided. The living room is spacious, and the pool table was a real plus. Great smart TV, and a cupboard with board games. Comfy furniture, and lovely comfy beds. The stairs split in two directions, meaning that the master bedroom and bathroom are slightly separated from the other two bedrooms and bathroom which was really helpful, allowing different generations to come and go without disturbing each other. Great location, with Kidwelly about 2 miles away having a large co-op, and chippy, and Carmarthen a bit further away with lots of shopping including a Morrisons superstore. Definitely visit Pembrey Country Park with one of the best beaches anywhere.

  • "Dalton Cottage was adorable!"

    It was in a beautiful area and the hosts were easily contactable and very friendly. The cottage was so clean and the beds were very comfortable. It really was home from home. There were plenty of walks, beaches, waterfalls and parks to visit in the area which is just what we wanted with our family dog. The garden was enclosed so no escape for Honey. It was totally perfect and we would

  • "As a family of 5, this property was perfect for us."

    It has enough room to ensure the kids had their own space and enough bathrooms to ensure there were no arguments! The kitchen was well stocked with all the cutlery, crockery and utensils that we needed to self cater. The kids loved the pool table and the unit containing games was an added bonus. We’d definitely stay here again.

  • "We had a lovely relaxing stay at the cottage."

    Everything was there for us. We had the wood burner going every evening with our dog Tig laid in front of it. We had lots of beach dog walks and went to some lovely places to eat too. Our granddaughter lives in Pontyates so it was nice seeing her as well. We will be back.

    In the photos the cottage seemed smaller but in reality it is very large and spacious. Wonderful arrangement of rooms. Large bathrooms and bedrooms. Very comfortable beds. The living room was huge and the pool table was a great addition. Village is very quiet and peaceful. Great location. A wonderful place to relax.

Dalton Cottage is a beautiful cottage located in the rural village of Llansaint, close to the attractions of Kidwelly.

Boasting period features and spacious living quarters, this attractive holiday home provides a heart-warming base for families and groups of friends, with access to the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside.

Step inside and discover the beautiful kitchen/diner, equipped to a superb standard with all the essentials for a short break, including a washing machine and dishwasher, so washing is sure to come easy!

Reward yourself with a local takeaway or rustle up a hearty feast to serve at the dining table, before settling down beside the woodburning stove for a cosy night in.

For some friendly competition, challenge each other to a game of pool, or step outside and enjoy the enclosed garden, benefiting from a decked area with furniture where alfresco dining is recommended.

When the evening comes to a close, find the bedrooms upstairs; to the left of the landing rests the master with beautiful feature windows and a super-king-size, served by a gleaming en-suite bathroom, whilst to the right there is a king-size and bunk room with double and single bed, ideal for younger guests.

Venture into the market town of Kidwelly for further amenities, including several pubs and shops, along with some fascinating attractions, such as the 12th century priory church and one of Wales’ most highly rated castles, Kidwelly Castle, recently voted as the fourth best castle in the UK, it’s a great opportunity to learn about the town’s history.

Seven miles away rests Pembrey Country Park, offering 500 acres of park and woodland with plenty of outdoor activities, while a little further afield is Cefn Sidan Beach, where you can enjoy an afternoon of swimming and sunbathing.

Once those are complete, other attractions in the area include National Botanic Garden of Wales and British Bird of Prey Centre, along with the vibrant harbour town of Tenby, considered one of Wales’ top seaside towns, its offers plenty for visitors.

LLANSAINT

Kidwelly 2 miles; Carmarthen 9 miles.

The historic village of Llansaint occupies an enviable elevated position above the small town of Kidwelly with its magnificent Norman castle, one of the largest and most complete in Wales. Llansaint is a small village dating back to the 12th century and is surrounded on all sides by pasture fields, with panoramic views of Carmarthen Bay. The village is home to a church in the square, while a regular bus service also runs through the village. Located at the mouth of Gwendreath River is nearby, historic Kidwelly; visit Kidwelly Quay with its well-kept picnic and viewing areas and good birdwatching. The ancient market town of Carmarthen is approximately 9 miles away, boasting castle ruins, a museum in the town centre, a labyrinth of narrow, winding streets with many interesting shops, an open-air market and a large selection of pubs and restaurants. There is also a wealth of attractions within 15 minutes' drive of Llansaint, which include Pembrey's Blue Flag beach, Pembrey Country Park, Ffos Las Racecourse, Burry Port Harbour and the beautiful St. Ishmael Church, built in the 11th century.
