  • "Honestly, we had a great and very straightforward experience with the booking and an excellent holiday in the cottage."

We did not know that part of Wales at all, but everyone was lovely. It was a superb holiday from start to finish. Keep up the good work!

  • "Very spacious cottage well equipped and comfortable."

Netflix was a added bonus because of the bad weather. Couple of things I would like to point out is the windows on the landing wasn’t very private because of no curtains or blinds. Also very uneven floor on the landing and quite a big dent on the floor by the window in the double bedroom. The village of Laugharne was a good base for visiting other parts of the coastline. It had 4 pubs, 1 hotel, a couple of cafes, a gift shop plus a very good convenience store. The attractions were Dylan Thomas Boathouse and the castle. Plenty of walks on the doorstep. A Very dog friendly village.

  • "Lovely property, well furnished and comfortable."

However, we were a little disappointed to find the back garden was accessed via an open passageway between the house next door and there was no way of allowing our dog access to the garden/house without us being in the garden with it. We have a bit of an escapoligist dog and this is an important factor in any booking.

  • "The cottage was delightful, the only thing that was a disappointment is that the garden wasn't attached to the house, I feel the passage way could be gated some how which would have allowed our dog to run in and out of the house without having to put a lead on her all the time!"

. Apart from this everything was perfect, the neighbours were lovely and in general the local people were very friendly. The setting is spectacular with many lovely places to eat. The local grocery shop is very well stocked and the gift shop, with the loveliest lady ever running it was fun to visit, as we went in daily to learn the history of the place and to learn Welsh. We had a fantastic holiday!

  • "Fabulous week in Laugharne, the cottage was perfect."

The living areas were cosy and the thick walls meant it was cool to return to during this unusual heatwave! While the bedrooms and bathroom were modern and bright with good quality bedding (5*). It was very well equipped, home from home (same cooker!). Laugharne is an ideal location for visiting some of the best attractions in the area. I can recommend the National Botanic Gardens, Monday is 'doggy day' when you can enjoy the gardens and take your furry friend, lots of water provided. Carew Castle, Picton Cstle, Dinefwr, Colby woodland gardens to name a few! Will hopefully we'll be returning again.

About the location

LAUGHARNE

Tenby 16 miles.

Laugharne, with its majestic castle standing on a low ridge overlooking the wide Taf River Estuary, is famous for its associations with the poet Dylan Thomas, and a visit to his Boat House and the writing shed where he wrote most of his works is a wonderful experience. Beautiful walks in and around the castle, with breathtaking views of the estuary, can be followed by cream teas in quaint little tea rooms, a drink in the local pub or shopping in the gift shops and mini market. The nearby sandy beach at Pendine is where many land speed records have been famously set on its seven mile stretch of beautiful flat sand, and a little further afield are the seaside resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot. With walks in all directions, great days out at castles, mills and craft centres galore, this is a perfect base for all the family, at any time of the year.
