Burry Port harbour and Pembrey Country Park are both stunning! We also visited Kidwelly Castle one afternoon, which didn’t cost much and we thoroughly enjoyed. The owners were away on our first night but text a few times to check that everything was ok (which was really appreciated) A bottle of wine was in the table when we arrived... that’s the kind of welcome I like!! The cottage is on working livery and is busy at times, the horses, stables and surrounding facilities are well used. Most mornings they have quite an early start. We enjoyed watching the riders and jumpers and meeting the horses by the stables. The owners have several dogs, some of which bark at you when you go to your car but one in particular just loved being fussed! The dogs didn’t bother us one bit, in fact we looked forward to seeing them each day. The cottage has everything you need and more! We enjoyed using the hot tub each night after being out for the day. (Little tip...shake the towels to check for spiders before you use them) I think they like to stay nice and warm whilst they are not in use! My daughter screamed like someone was murdering her when one fell on her foot as she got out of the shower! We made sure we checked after that! This is somewhere we would happily book again and have already recommended it to our family and friends.
