  • “We had a fabulous stay at Doirewood.”

The lodge and facilities available to us were fantastic and the surrounding area so peaceful and pretty. The owners Jackie and Phil couldn’t do enough to help us. Thank you for a great holiday :)

The property

Cenarth 1 mile. Resting in Penlan Holiday Park, near Cenarth, is this detached lodge, Doirewood.

Set over a single-storey and sleeping up to six guests, Doirewood is a charming and homely setting for your next South Wales family adventure, within easy reach of Cardigan and Oakwood Theme Park.

Take advantage of the two off-road parking spots, before walking up the stone pathway to the property where there is three steps up onto the decking, which surrounds the lodge and has furniture to embrace some alfresco dining, as well as a new BBQ and pizza oven.

As you walk through the front door, you will step into the amply-equipped kitchen, before following through into the sitting room where you can relax and unwind with the Smart TV, or get the electric fire on to warm up your toes after a long day.

The single-storey lodge also has three bedrooms; two small doubles and a child's bunk bed, making flexible sleeping arrangements for a family trip, along with a shower room, so you can prepare for the day ahead.

Penlan Holiday Park has a heated swimming pool, a coffee lounge and a children's activity centre on-site, but if you can tear yourself away, visit the bustling market town of Newcastle Emlyn which offers an array of shops, both unique local producers and larger chain stores, such as designer clothes, crafts and jewellery, antiques, tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and a ruined castle.

Surrounding Newcastle Emlyn is the beautiful countryside, with Cenarth Falls nearby, but Cardigan and the Cardiganshire/Pembrokeshire coastline is also just a short drive away so you have the opportunity to visit Cardigan Island Farm Park, the wonderful sandy beaches, or take a boat trip to spot dolphins and seals at New Quay.

Slightly further afield there is the town of Carmarthen, Dylan Thomas' Boat House in Laugharne, paintballing, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, Oakwood Theme Park and train rides at Henllan, along with an array of castles, mills and craft centres.

For an unforgettable trip to South Wales, choose Doirewood.
