  • "Perfect cottage for a visit to the Brecon Beacons."

Exceptionally clean with all the amenities you would expect. Although near the road, the cottage was very quiet and there was a secure garden for the dog. Great location with a friendly pub and decent food a few doors away and a small shop with basic provisions a short walk the other way. We did two amazing walks straight from the cottage and drove to a few others but all within 20 mins. Ceri, the host, was fab and made sure everything was ready when we arrived. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit mid Wales and the Brecon area.

  • "This is a lovely cottage with a spacious living and dining area."

Lovely welcome from our host Ceri. Brilliantly located for walks near Crickhowell and Abergavenny. Very comfortable beds, excellently and generously stocked kitchen (equipped with all you'll need). The wood burner was welcome after some wintery walks. House was warm without it though. We'll definitely make a return trip.

  • "Perfect location."

The house was so very clean and equipped that we only needed to unpack and it felt like home. Beautiful log burner which made our Christmas lovely. Enclosed garden was great for our little dog. Highly recommend this place

  • "We had a great week, cottage is perfect base for exploring the area, Ceri was so helpful, early check in, homemade Welsh cakes, fresh flowers, dog treats, Christmas tree and plenty of logs for the fire for the full week."

The cottage is fully equipped and good quality, it has everything you need, immaculate, clean and tidy. The local pub (New Inn) is perfect, food and service is great. The owner and locals are very welcoming. The local farm shop (Venison Farm Shop) is well recommended. Will definitely return.

About the location

BWLCH

Brecon 11 miles; Abergavenny 11.8 miles; Aberdare 23.1 miles

Perched in Powys, Southern Wales, surrounded by wonderful countryside, is the small village of Bwlch, which can be translated as 'pass' in Welsh. Steeped in history with its remains of an ancient defensive enclosure, which rest on Cefn Moel and there its medieval standing stone at Llygad Wy, the village is a great place for any budding historian. The picturesque village is a popular destination for cycling, horse-riding and hiking. Despite the small size of the village, Bwlch is home to a well-stocked convenience store, a post-office and a quirky café, ideal for those on a self-catered holiday. Discover the magnificent country mansion of Buckland Hall, with stunning gardens and its impressive interior. The untamed moorland of Brecon Beacons National Park is ideal for breath-taking views of South Wales, with plenty of walking trails to explore. Enveloped by the Brecon Beacons is the attractive town of Abergavenny, offering an abundance of independent stores and delicious eateries to fuel your excursions.
