  • "The Swallows is a comfortable self catering property ideal for 2 and it had everything we needed for our stay."

It was always warm and the patio was a lovely place to sit when the sun shone. Internet in the lounge was hit and miss as it doesn't go round corners but wasn't an issue. Locally there are 2 pubs. The Ship Aground opened 3 - 9pm and was mainly a drinking pub. The Freemasons offered a good menu Tuesday to Sunday lunchtime. Fish and chips at The Catch is highly recommended. Thd local petrol station was well stocked with provisions. There are several circular walks along the coast and inland from the property. The coastal walks offer stunning scenery. David the owner has made available details of various walks which were very useful. We would highly recommend the property and surrounding area.

  • "We arrived on 25/3/23 to be greeted by Anne and David."

David showed us to the accomodation and we found a traditional welsh Barra Brith cake, fresh milk in the fridge and tea & coffee. What a welcome. Well that went down very well indeed. Yummy. The property itself is set in a very quiet cul de sac and it is beautiful. A very comfortable annexe style place. With all the bits n bobs you need for a great holiday. Very comfortable bed. Lovely garden. And a shower room that was just so dam good. The lounge had a lovely feel also. Decorated with Davids amazing photos on the wall. Yes he is a pro. The kitchen was well equipped modern and very clean. The bedroom had wonderfull patio style doors leading on to a patio area and garden. Marvelous in the warmer months. But the weather was not so kind for us. But nonetheless once again very clean and comfortable. The local area is wonderfull to visit with some really nice places and eateries nearby. But for us the star/stars of the show were David and Anne whos hospitality were beyond compare. We will be definately coming back.

The accommodation was comfortable and homely with a lovely garden to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and was ideally place for us as walkers. There is easy access to the Pembroke-shire Coastal Path with fantastic scenery and the highlight for us was seeing a pair of Cuckoos and nesting Guillemots. Would recommend the Old Sailor at Pwllgwaelod and we had some of the nicest fish and chips for a long time. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We would like to give special thanks to Anne and David for making our holiday that little bit special.

  • "The wifi does not work in the sitting room."

The fitted sheet is too small for the mattress and with a nylon type mattress protector slips off in the night making it very uncomfortable. We had many power cuts during our stay, I'm am very. aware this is not the owners fault. However as the accommodation is an annexe connected to the main house, during one of the power cuts the male owner came through the connecting door without knocking to bring a torch we could have been undressed!! There is a very owner specific place for guests to park to the side of a painted white line in front of the garage, one night on our return I was just outside of the line and the owner came and asked me to move my car. Petty.

It is an ideal base for keen coastal walkers like ourselves and the beautiful coastline is only a few minutes away on foot. The hills inland are also very near but will have to wait until our next visit. There is a good bus service from the main road in the village 5 minutes walk away, allowing access to other parts of the coastline and area without using a car. It was lovely coming home in the evening after a long walk to the warm and cosy Swallows. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we were greeted with tea, coffee, milk and bara brith on our arrival, a treat. We would definitely recommend this property - we can't think of any negatives!.
