The property

A pretty, detached cottage, set back off the road, on the outskirts of the village of Cwmgors, near to the town of Ammanford in South Wales.

Set opposite the owner's home, this delightful cottage with its large garden areas to both front and back will suit a family or couples looking to explore this wonderful area.

Charmingly furnished and decorated, the owners have created a welcoming and comfortable cottage for your holiday.

The spacious kitchen with dining area has two double patio doors allowing wonderful sunshine to flood in and gives easy access into the lovely rear garden.

Why not enjoy alfresco dining on the patio, sit on the seat around the large tree while you listen to the flowing brook and the joyful birds in the trees, or enjoy some outdoor games together?

Cooking family meals on the wonderful range, sitting together round the table and then enjoying a catch up of TV programmes in front of the warming woodburner or a quiet read in the snug, all add to the enjoyment of your holiday.

With two comfy bedrooms you will all enjoy a good night’s sleep and the two bathrooms offer the chance to relax in the bath tub or enjoy a refreshing shower in the wet room.

With superb scenery all round you may want to explore this beautiful part of Wales on foot, or for keen cyclists you can enjoy days out on two wheels returning home to this delightful cottage to wash the bikes off and store them safely away in the bike shed, before planning the next day’s activities.

Visit the coast with its sandy beaches, the Millennium Coastal Path, suitable for cyclists and walkers alike, and the superb Pembrey Country Park where you can try out the dry ski slope.

About the location

Ammanford 6 miles; Neath 15 miles.

The old mining village of Cwmgors, nestling at the base of the wonderful Black Mountain, offers visitors a shop, pub and a takeaway. There is superb walking from the doorstep, both in the Black Mountain and, further north, in the Amman Valley, with their vast moorlands, prehistoric burial sites and medieval castles, and acting as the gateway to the Brecon Beacons. The bustling market town of Ammanford is 6 miles away, and boasts a variety of shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, while the larger town of Neath is just a short drive away. For racing lovers, one of only two purpose built, all-weather trotting race tracks is close by at Tairgwaith, and holds regular race meetings from March to September. To the south is the magnificent Welsh coastline, with fabulous sandy beaches along The Mumbles, the National Wetland Centre of Wales and Pembrey Country Park. The town of Pontardawe is also well-worth a visit, a rural area enriched in Industrial History to explore as well as modern-day experiences of a brilliant leisure centre and swimming pool for an afternoon of sport, as well as an 18-hole golf course and an arts centre, offering something for every interest it's a lovely place to visit. A central base for discovering all of the Welsh wonders in the area, surrounded by an array of fun-filled amenities, Cwmgors is a brilliant place to spend your holidays.
