Accommodation was spotless and perfect for us and our dog. Loved the open plan layout and with the weather being kind the outside space was a great bonus, listening to the river and the birds. The welcome treats left by Helen our hostess were much appreciated as were the recommendations and suggestions of where to visit and what to to in the area. Would definitely like to return some day.

It was very clean and had everything you needed to enjoy a peaceful break. The surroundings are beautiful and we would love to come back again. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom ample for us. The only this that we found slightly uncomfortable was the sofa but that was the only thing! Close enough to the coast that we could drive there in ~30 minutes and walk along the Pembrokeshire Coast. Dog-friendly too - as the outside area is gated so that was useful for letting our dog roam while we were in the cottage.

We would highly recommend Ty Barddu for anyone wanting a relaxing place to stay with plenty of beautiful places to see a short drive away. It's a lovely, well thought out little cottage that has absolutely everything you need. The information pack is bursting with ideas of places to visit, things to do and walks to take. We enjoyed the 2 hour circular walk from Ty Barddu via Capel Iwan and walks along the pembrokeshire and ceredigion coastal path. Then returning to Ty Barddu and sitting on the patio listening to the river and the birds singing was so relaxing. Ty Barddu is spotlessly clean and lots of extra covid procedures have been put in place to make you feel safe. We can't wait to return again!

  • "I had a fantastic stay here with my mother and her dog at the end of August."

We had been booked to go to Kefalonia but as my mother had been shielding since March, this seemed like a much safer option. We received an email explaining all the new cleaning measurements that have been put in place which was a real comfort and we felt very safe. The cottage is in such a peaceful location and has a lovely outside area with a lovely covered section so we were able to sit outside even when it was raining. There are some lovely places to visit within a 30 minute drive but be aware that the roads around the cottage are very narrow, no problem for me but my mother didn't fancy driving. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything we needed. So much thought has gone into setting it up. We were going to have a barbecue one night and forgot to pack a lighter and we were amazed to see that there was a lighter there along with everything else needed for a barbecue and they even had fly spray! We can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to return.

We walked the 3 walks suggested in the welcome pack we had. They were beautiful walks, we even tried out Gwbert, Aberporth, New Quay & Tenby. Mollie our lab loved her holiday super excited when the the beach was close & able to go into the running stream along this stylish home. • "Ty Barddu was spotlessly clean."

Appreciated tea, coffee, milk and biscuits left for us - thank you! The cottage was well designed, compact but well equipped. It even has a dragon! We loved the position of the cottage and the sound of the nearby stream. The covered decking meant we could eat almost all our meals outside even in light rain. We enjoyed the local walks using the routes recommended in the cottage guidebook. The single track access was not a problem so we also travelled to several beaches, Mwnt (NT) Poppit Sands, Tresaith (park above beach and long stepped path down) and Pendine Sands. Take cash as most beach parking payment is coin only. As well as Cardigan for a meal with friends at Pizzatipi. The Nags Head Inn at Abercych was our first meal out since lockdown, well organised, eating riverside outside under cover. Thank you for a lovely week.

  • "Ty Barddu is a great little chalet style bungalow."

Great for its extremely quiet location, still within easy reach of all the coastal points of interest. My personal favorite is the 6 mile walk around Strumble Head. If you don't mind being in the car a little longer, even Teifi Lakes SE of Devil's Bridge, Lynn Brianne and Black Mountain are within reach. Little because just 21,25 square meters isn't that big, but it is very liveable. Bathroom has a large shower. Also large bed with very good matrass. Large kitchen in relation to the size of the property; though table was too small (plenty of room for bigger table, just a couple of inches wider would make a lot of difference). Lounge was smaller than expected, but with better weather then I had, with open doors to very nice decked terrace this will be less of an issue. To me sofa and chairs were very uncomfortable. Just a shame kitchen was blocking the open feel of the bungalow, turning the kitchen 90 degrees would have made this a far better place. Owner Helen, flowers and cookies made me feel very welcome. All in all a great place to get away from the husle and bustle of normal life and very recommended.

5 miles when it is actually 7 miles to the outer marker. Getting out of bed was difficult as the bed was to close to the wall. The shower room was to small as when getting out of the shower you could not dry your self in the room. The toilet was cramped to sit on. The sofa in the living room was like a child's bedroom sofa. And the bbq was rusty. Overall not a relaxing holiday . When having a shower and the room got damp it smelt like dog.

The finest details have all been thought of including lovely welcoming home made cookies and treats, bowls and a blanket for your dog. You will have the best nights sleep in a wonderful king size bed with the window open listening to sound of the stream flowing by. Wonderful surroundings with plenty of walks close by but also with plenty of places to visit around. We did a lot of coastal walking this year. Aberporthe to Penbryn was our favourite. Mwnt is also very beautiful. Poppit Sands is definitely worth a visit and traeth beach. Everything was perfect and we have advised the owners that the instructions for finding the property were nowhere near detailed enough. The property is remote- surely that is the appeal but the other side of that coin is its tricky to find. Sykes instructions gave you the route from one direction- we didn't come that way, you need more specific pointers not to mention that someone had demolished the road sign and we can see no urgency on the part of the local council to put it back up. We will definitely be back, such a great place to recharge the batteries, do lots or nothing, just perfection.
