  • "Although clean, no tea towels and as listing states 'all linen' provided you would assume these would be there."

.. double bed slopes down ( head end), one of the single beds the springs were showing under the material, so could not be slept on for an adult. The garden was not as listing as wooden furniture not movable and the barn is closer than listing image showed. The bathroom is a little tired (side panel & stool), why does the red/blue bag to be kept inside as the smelt... All that said lovely location and clean.

  • "Just the two humans and one dog."

Wind howling and wet. Perfectly situated and welcoming to come back to. The owners were very accomodating and made the first proper break in years perfect.

  • "The cottage weas ideal for us and an anxious dog."

It was not too fussy and we felt comfortable immediately. I would recommend it highly

  • "Location ideal for exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast."

Cottage comfortable with a pleasant garden. Evenings were chilly ( mid Sept) but just an hour of the heating and we were cosy. Very peaceful location.

  • "For somebody of our ages having to go downstairs to toilet in the night not suitable, also a step would have been handy to get into bath to enable showering."

Front door gives entry into lounge, but no curtain or blind for door, this is also the case for the main entry via kitchen door. Blind or curtain missing from side window in kitchen. The kitchen facilities were excellent. Could not use hoover without finding how to empty it! The fluff filter in drier was so full it was a fire hazard! When advertising property should point out road is very busy with fast moving traffic.

The property was excellent, & we enjoyed some classic walks & sea swimming

  • "Excellent location between St David's and Fishguard, and close to the beautiful unspoilt beach of Abermawr, and woodland walks."

Well equipped kitchen with beautiful bed linen, and good supply of towels and hot water. Good heating system, although we didn't need it on as weather was glorious! We didn't realise there was no rear access to the garden from the house, which meant going out of the front door and around the cottage to get into the garden.

  • "Well equipped accommodation comfortable and cosy especially as weather was wet and windy."

Garden is not escape proof as stated, and our small dog found gap under fence to neighbouring garden behind a bush in less than 2 mins. Possibly a simple fix? Heating system was good except radiator in bathroom didn’t appear to work, even with trv fully open. Good internet connection but no mobile phone signal unless Walk 50 metres up the road and then ok. Local mill has a convenient cafe for afternoon tea or Morning breakfast when making way to or from local beach abermawr

  • "The accommodation was essentially fine, though we noted plumbing issues on arrival, hot tap on bathroom sink broken and non functional, serious water hammer/ noise on cold tap."

Not really an issue for us but could be for those with kids or others not prepared to use the bath taps. But in all other respects a great week in a quiet place but with full and fast Internet access when needed. Nearby coastal walking superb, no crowds and no shops, just nature and just perfect! Dog enjoyed it too!

The property

Situated on a quiet country lane, close to Abermawr beach in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, this 200-year-old, traditionally furnished cottage makes an ideal base for a walking, cycling or relaxing holiday. Nearby is the spectacular coastal headland of Strumble Head, where you can watch the wild ponies on the rugged headland or spot porpoises in the bay.

The coastal bus passes the cottage and is a 'hail and ride' service which enables you to visit the many coves and bays along this stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and walk a different section each day.

Fishguard and St Davids are within a few miles and each have a good selection of restaurants and shops.

Other places to add to your 'must visit' list while in the area are Porthgain, Abereiddy, the Blue Lagoon, Solva and Newport. Melin Tregwynt woollen mill, famous for its fabulous blankets, throws and unique handbags, is a few minutes’ walk from the cottage.

The mill also has a lovely restaurant/cafe where you can enjoy local food and sometimes entertainment on summer weekends.
