  • "Stayed in this lovely home for 7 days, just wish it was for longer."

Had everything you needed and it was spotless. Situated in an area that was perfect for us. Easy walk to the beaches which are stunning, close to cafe’s and into the town. Millennium walk goes on for miles perfect for people who enjoy walking or cycling. Pembey Country park is amazing! I bought a carpark pass before we came £22 for 7 days which is a bargain. It’s £4 for 2 hours £8 for all day. The house was so comfortable we walked the dogs and then chilled out and early evening went to the Country Park. Thank you so much for letting us stay at this beautiful house. Saving my pennies for another visit.

Thank you very much for your kind remarks. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner

Every little thing has been thought of to enable a really comfortable stay. The kitchen is really well equipped and there are plenty of crockery and glasses. The house is really spacious and very comfortable, we loved having so much storage including bike storage. The owner phoned before the visit to check if we needed anything then provided a wonderful hamper and even the dogs were left some treats and a water bowl. The cottage is in a brilliant position with access to the coastal path and cycle ways, you could easily do without a car. I recommend this cottage highly and we are planning to visit again in April or May next year.

Thank you very much for your complementary comments. We are glad that you and found everything to your liking. We look forward to welcoming you back next year. Property Owner

) House was very clean and had two double bedrooms for two adult couples on first floor (one with en-suite and one using main bathroom). 3 children slept in two rooms on the top floor and shared bathrooms on the floor below with their parents. Extra toilet on ground floor was very helpful. Kitchen had everything you needed to cook and have a proper meal in without running out of cutlery / plates etc. Beach was so close we enjoyed a late evening swim and quick stroll back (consider tide times and be mindful of currents). We also used our inflatable kayak and had great access from the back garages to gravel area at back of the house to store between uses (utility area convenient); then a nice conservatory as well as lounge to sit in. Members of the group were also able to pop out at any point to fish from the pier. Quick and easy walking to places to eat and get ice cream or pop to shop for something you forgot as well as get deliveries . Everyone we met was very pleasant - makes such a difference. Also, very close to Pembrey park where there are loads of activities and a lovely beach; we also enjoyed two trips to the Welsh botanical gardens (only circa 40 min drive). Morning of departure we had a lovely walk down to the light house and my son asked if we could book this exact place for next year. Can’t say better than that!

Five minute walk to a fabulous beach. A beach which mutates completely with the tides and affords constant interest to kids of all ages. Take a net because there are crabs, shrimps and small fish to be caught, examined and returned to their environment. Take your cameras because there re great pictures also. Cafe and tea room are nearby a plus a great kids playground. Downside? This ain't no Tenby as its not geared for tourists. Some might say this is an advantage. Not much in the way of shops within walking distance. Not much in the way of souvenirs etc. However if you don't want to cook, there are some decent takeaways and a run down but well stocked Co-Op if you do. Would we go there again? Not 'arf!

It was a bonus having the designated parking spaces at the rear but we were also able to park right outside the front on most days, although I imagine this would be more difficult in high season. There is a large car park next to the property where there is a popular creperie and the walkway leads round to the yacht club, harbour, a tea shop and a gorgeous beach, all no more than 5 minutes walk from the house. However this was all very quiet as we were there just as the schools started back. The house was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well furnished . The kitchen was well-equipped although a whisk and a pair of sturdy kitchen scissors would have been handy and the welcome pack was great. The icing on the cake was the lovely conservatory and, as my husband discovered, the Sky tv package included Sky Sports!! Plenty of golf, football and cricket to watch. Lots of little touches like the electric fans , tv in the bedroom and plenty of good quality hangers in the wardrobes. The location is ideal for exploring the area - we visited Kidwelly (try the Kidwelly Deli for freshly made sandwiches), Carmarthen, Gower Peninsula, Saundersfoot and Tenby. Fabulous beaches and beautiful scenery. Locally, we had a particularly good meal in the Coasting Pilot and also at The Ship Aground in Pembrey, just 5 mins drive away. We would recommend the house without hesitation. Thank you Sharon.

  • "The welcome and facilities far exceeded our expectations."

Wynn and Sharon met us and walked us round the local area, pointing out the beaches, shops and what was in the house. Sharon had even put out some extra rugby books as we had been to a match the day before and actually helped us get to a 'meet the coaches' session at the Scarlets ground. We have never been disappointed with other Sykes cottages but the comfort, facilities and welcome surpassed any other place we have stayed. excellent wifi for the kids, great comfortable chairs and separate sitting areas worked well with two families at the house. We had not realised there was a garage and storage: we had brought road bikes for cycling and it was such a plus to be able to take them off the car and put away. there was space to dry wet suits and store surf boards too, keeping the sand out of the house. The kitchen was the best stocked I have yet seen! The small pool table was well used and fun, on one wet day there was quite a tournament going on. I did not know the area but it is so beautiful: hills to the north and sandy beaches and the Gower a short drive away: being able to bird watch redshanks and other waders in the harbour out of the front window, and finding lizards in the dunes 2 mins from the house. The canal path cycle track would be ideal for families- off road and flat and takes you to the lovely Pembery country park. Having the leaflets in the dining area was great for planning days out. We are already thinking about another visit: a fabulous house and location with a lovely welcome that enhanced the holiday greatly. thanks so much

  • "We booked this place because of cancellation of our another property."

We are glad that it was cancelled and we got the chance to stay at 5 Chandlers Yard, Burry Port. It was the kind of place where we wanted to go for the holiday, Nice and Relax. Very close to beach and light house. The property was really very clean and has all what we needed.Owner did welcome us at the property and showed us the nearby Pubs and Beaches. Property owner did also ensure that he had made all the arrangement to make us feel like at home. Processo to Well Come card greeting, to Bed Linens to match our kids requirement, everything was there. My son did enjoy the mini Pool table and other kids games which were kept. Overall a wonderful experience.
