Good boiler and shower. Excellent wifi. The mattresses need replacing tho, I've never been so uncomfortable and I slept in the double (side closest to window is a bit better than centre & door side) and the large bunk. Could have done with some oven instructions, we had to search online for the manufacturer's instruction manual. Tv sound quality isn't great. Reviewed by JeanJun 2022 "Absolutely stinking full of dogs hairs and cobwebs and dust." We spent the first day of our holiday cleaning and hoovering.the hoover wasn't picking up so we had to take it all apart and clean the filters eventually got it working had to get on my hands and knees to hoover the dogs hairs were that thick.the cleaning service they are paying for is appalling and also the main double bed has no slats in the middle of the bed.so had to take a piece of wood out of the kitchen cupboard after sleeping 3 nights like it and my back being in severe pain for a few days. I'm really sorry about this, I will look into it as the cleaning company is usually very good. I will also look at the bed as this was brand new at the beginning of the season from Benson's and should not have failed! Property Owner Reviewed by LisaMay 2022 "Brilliant location and so pleased we could take our dog who loved people watching out of the window." The only things we would change are a lid on the bin, a decent vacuum cleaner, as the one provided struggled to pick up anything, a different flooring on the balcony as very slippery and having the garage as storage for car or bikes - we were lucky we managed to get the visitor’s parking spot. So only minor niggles otherwise perfect and we will be back soon. Reviewed by DianeMay 2022 "The apartment was clean and spacious and had everything we needed." The views over the marina and harbour were amazing and just a 5 minute stroll from the apartment were the sand dunes and beautiful dog friendly beaches and the millennium coastal path great for bikes and walking. The local town was in walking distance with a lovely bakery and a good cafe in the harbour 2 minutes from the apartment. The Hope and Anchor pub served great breakfasts and had a seafood restaurant. Would love to stay here again. Reviewed by MichelleAug 2021 "The apartment was in a fantastic location, amazing views and in the harbour, it had everything we needed and was well equipped, it was lovely and clean, but the apartment itself is in need of a make over, the carpet is stained and threadbare in places, a smaller dining table would be better for more room." Reviewed by JessicaAug 2021 "Excellent location for long walks and cycle rides along the coast." Apartment well equipped and lovely views from living room and balcony. Suitable for maximum of 3 adults as sitting space in living room is limited. Couldn't fault it. Would definitely consider returning. Handy for shops and pubs. Good train links if you don't want to take the car everywhere. Reviewed by JaneJul 2021 "The apartment was in an ideal location ." It was within walking distance of all local amenities. The apartment was comfortable and had everything you needed to make the stay perfect. Reviewed by BarbaraJul 2021 "Bigger than it looks." Kitted out extremely well including enough coat hangers. Lots of pots and pans in the kitchen. Clean, comfortable. Friendly, helpful neighbors. Only negatives; the double bed seemed small, however, we have a super kingsize at home, and the seating was squshed for 4 adults. Amazingly good value for money. Quiet relaxing area. Fabulous beaches. Highly recommend. We had to contact SYKES durring the stay and they responded to the request within the hour , very impressed by their response and customer service, would certainly book with them again . Reviewed by AlisonMay 2021 "This is a lovely apartment in a really lovely part of the UK, the views from the lounge and kitchen are truly memorable, watching the various stages of the tide during the course of the day and night is wonderful." We thoroughly enjoyed our week and would certainly return to the Gower but not sure we'd rebook Marina View. Obviously lockdown has made any travel/letting more difficult but there were a few issues which did rather colour our experience. Firstly the broadband, this is a 4G connection not a landline and as such worked really well in the day when there was no/little use but in the evening the speed dropped to less than 1mbps so any form of streaming was impossible, couldn't use iPlayer etc. I think this should be made clear. Secondly the owners turned up on the second evening and after firstly telling me I hadn't answered the door quickly enough then said I shouldn't be in the apartment! This was quickly resolved (Sykes Cottage's blamed) and they did apologize(accepted, mistakes happen) While the owner's were there they installed a "new" mattress, we couldn't get on with this at all as we were constantly rolling together in the middle of the bed and I had to decamp to the bottom bunk bed. Lastly some of the utensils are way past their use by date, the baking sheet, the one frying pan and grill pan in particular are really not fit for use. All in all a good holiday in what could be truly outstanding accommodation, just needs a bit of love in my opinion. Thank you for your feedback. We take feedback very seriously and apologise for the misunderstanding. We have replaced the bed completely and thank you for your comments with this. We have updated the profile as there is mobile WiFi only. We do hope you enjoyed your stay and would welcome you back again soon. Kind regards Property Owner Reviewed by NicholasApr 2021 "You telephoned us to let us know there was a different code for entering the flat after we had planned to leave so it was only by chance I picked up the message and looked at the email." After 11 am on the day of arrival was too late. Not everyone has a smart phone to pick up emails. The flat was not very clean, there were hairs in the bath, cobwebs everywhere, dead wood lice in the kitchen. The cooking trays for use in the oven were disgusting. I could not use them for putting food on. There were no bowls large enough for serving things like salad for 2 people, let alone 4. More than one large serving spoon would have been useful for serving food. There were no instructions for things like the TV, the internet, or even where or when to put the rubbish out. The bed was very uncomfortable and we left early because it was giving my husband and myself bad backs. The mattress has clearly gone past its use by date. Thank you for your feedback, I would like to apologise for the issues you experienced while you were away, regrettably due to covid I was unable to attend the property to inspect these matters. I have now visited Marina View and attended to the things you have mentioned in your feedback. We have replaced the mattress, purchased more items in the kitchen, new crockery, bowls, sharp knives, serving spoons etc. and replaced the instructions that were in the property for guests. I have also spoke with the cleaning company regarding the issues you have raised. Once again, thank you for your feedback as it is important to us.
