Peacefully tucked away on the side of a mountain near the village of Pen-y-Cae, in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park, is this charming small cluster of fifteen delightful stone-built holiday cottages surrounded by majestic mountains.

There is also a games room, and discounted entry for the National Showcaves of Wales which is situated next door and you can even get married in these caves!
The Brecon Beacons is also a walkers' paradise, and just great for mountain biking and for those who prefer a slower pace, you’ll find ample opportunities for lazy days spent going for ‘walkies’ with your four-legged friend, bird watching, fishing, or honing your skills at one of the nearby golf courses.
This area is also designated a Dark Skies Reserve so it’s great for budding astronomers!
Swansea can be easily reached for a day in the city, as can the breathtaking Gower Peninsula coastline with its spotless sandy shores for a day beside the sea.

The sleepy little hamlet of Pen-y-Cae lies on the River Tawe amongst the beautiful scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park. With a local country inn serving award-winning food, this is an excellent, away-from-it-all base for your Welsh getaway. Surrounded by sweeping countryside strewn with rounded peaks, Pen-y-Cae is a great place for discovering the great outdoors with an adventure centre nearby where you can enjoy a wide range of activities such as rock climbing and watersports. Just outside the village are the celebrated National Showcaves for Wales. Discovered in 1912, there are three stunning caves to wander through as well as many other exciting on-site attractions to enjoy including a Shire horse farm, an Iron Age village, a range of play areas and over 200 life-size dinosaurs! For breathtaking scenery, simply take a short drive and be inspired by heather-topped mountains, rolling countryside, deep lakes and vast valleys of this vibrant region, with a myriad of walking routes and excellent off-road mountain biking tracks to enjoy. Head to the bright city lights of Cardiff or Swansea, both easily found for a day trip, or to the coast of the picturesque Gower Peninsula with its spectacular surf and immaculate beaches. With a wealth of stunning sights and attractions nearby, this is a superb destination for a break to remember.
