  • “We thought the cottage was nice it was set in a beautiful courtyard and surrounded by lovely countryside.”

There we're fresh flowers Welsh cakes and treats for the dog which I thought was a nice touch. There we're fresh flowers Welsh cakes and treats for the dog which I thought was a nice touch. However the cottage was run down the lounge mat was filthy and the hot water for the bath was hit and miss. For us with a dog it didn't work, there is absolutely know where you can have your dog of a lead, and I know it states this when you book, but I didn't realise that there was no enclosed space for a dog, so if your dog needs a pee you have to stick your wellies on over your pyjamas and physically go out in all weather's with a torch and try and find your way round a field, not my idea of fun, but I have to say that I should have read through everything before booking. This is just a suggestion, we felt that a grab rail would help considerably for anyone getting in and out of the bath.

Thank you for the kind words about our home and grounds and that you were happy with the welcome pack but we are disappointed that you had some issues, our aim is to provide our guests with a relaxing break, especially after the last couple of years we've all had and we work extremely hard to make it happen. I should like to respond to your comments point by point. We totally disagree with your comment of the cottage being "run down", our cottages are maintained and cleaned to a high standard. The rug, along with everything else in the cottage, is steamed and or washed between each booking in line with the Covid rules and was definitely not "filthy". If you had told us you had problems with the hot water we would have called in the plumber (which we have done), the boiler is a combi and is meant to provide hot water on demand and is on 24 hrs a day, no-one else has raised this as an issue. With regard to the lack of enclosed space for dogs, this is clearly stated and you would have been informed of this prior to your arrival. Thank you for the suggestion of a grab rail, this is the first time it has been mentioned but we will definitely consider it. Once again we're disappointed that you didn't enjoy your holiday here. About the location

WOLFSCASTLE

Haverfordwest 8 miles.

Wolfscastle is a pretty village in Pembrokeshire, with a pub and restaurant both serving excellent food, a shop, and a pottery where you can watch the potter at work and purchase some great Welsh gifts. There is a wonderful mill close by at the foot of the Great Treffgarne Rocks, with a scenic woodland walk, a cafe and shops selling locally produced gifts and foods. Haverfordwest, the County town, offers a great shopping day out plus the chance to explore the castle, museum and river walks during the day, or the bustling night life later on. Pembrokeshire has it all - sandy beaches for relaxing on in summer and brisk walks in all other seasons, boat trips to the ‘bird’ islands, whitewater rafting, the thrills of Oakwood Theme Park and an array of castles, the unique St Govans' Chapel built in the cliffs and even a cathedral in the smallest city in Wales. All year round, this is the perfect place for the perfect holiday.
