  • "Perfection."

The Granary was everything we hoped for. It truly is tucked away from everything, surrounded by peace and stars at night, perfect to rest the soul. I don't drive and it was no problem. We bought enough food and supplies to last the week so didn't need to go far afield. The Offas Dyke Walk runs straight through the farm and we thoroughly enjoyed our wet, muddy walks. Our hosts were extremely kind and showed us around the farm. Our little dog had an excellent time and enjoyed watching the squirrels. My children 14 and 9 have already asked me to book there again which I will do . Very comfortable, warm, spacious and very well equipped. Had everything we needed and more. We were sorry to leave.

  • "Lovely, comfortable stay on this working farm but still quiet."

There was the odd cobweb but this was an old property in the country and it is the time of year when spiders come in so to be expected. Owners were helpful and friendly. Surrounding roads were narrower than expected but easily passable with caution on bends and curves.

  • "This working farm, and attached cottage, are set in a most delightful part of Monmouthshire, Wales."

Once the lane system is conquered the spectacular view awaits the traveller! A Welcome Pack with tea & coffee, with milk in the fridge would have made the welcome more poignant. Thank you Sally for the opportunity to share the blessings you have!

  • "Agree with previous comments."

Its very remote and no shops on the way (if via M4 Newport) so bring all the necessities. However being remote means you are rewarded with stunning views and tranquility. Fyi Its a working farm that you are attached to. Agree also with feedback a token welcome bundle might be something to consider.

  • "The signage and directions need updating , It requires a better sign by the road side as the drive is easily missed The Wi Fi was down for nearly two days , The shower in the main bedroom is very poor and needs updating ."

. Having said all this we found the place very comfortable with large rooms . The views were very nice and apart from the points I have mentioned we enjoyed our stay at the Grange

  • "My elderly mother and I spent a very comfortable stay at the Grange."

We lived having an en suite bedroom each. The living space and kitchen are very spacious and comfortable. The location is stunning with magnificent views. Thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the stars and listening to the owls. It is a working farm, so also enjoyed seeing the livestock. We would certainly return to The Grange.

  • "The cottage was very clean and exceeded our expectations in all ways."

Very quite and secluded, yet reasonably convenient for getting about. The owners were very friendly, and helpful. This is definitely on the list for a re-visit.

  • "Very spacious accommodation."

Very friendly owners and visiting family who were working on the farm at the time of our visit. The sheep are also friendly lol We had great use of some of the fields to walk our dog - thank you It is placed in farm land as you would expect and you need to be aware that the lanes around are very narrow. Needed our sat nav at all times. The front steps near sliding doors of the property needs to be weeded and the outside table needs to be cleaned to be able to sit at it. The table and chairs near the kitchen are tired and a little wobbly. (Only a few things to be done to make it an even greater place to stay.) Remember to take all condiments, kitchen roll, extra toilet roll etc etc with you. Great selection of crockery and cutlery and added bonus of a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. May be the owners can put together a welcome pack with information on the property and places to visit. This would be a great addition and helpful to visitors. Overall a relaxing holiday with the sights and sounds of a working farm in a spacious well equipped property (The Granary)

MONMOUTH

Ross-on-Wye 10 miles; Usk, 14.5 miles; Abergavenny 18.5 miles.

An intriguing market town on the border between Wales and England and close to the exceptional Offa’s Dyke, this wonderful town combines old and new, from the old castle ruins to the vibrant weekly market. Located at the confluence of 3 rivers – the Wye, the Monnow and the Trothy, it is an excellent base to enjoy river boating, scenic walks and a little shopping too, or to sit and relax on the edge of the river and watch the rowers who regularly race and practise their skills. Monmouth is most famous as the birthplace of Henry V and offers the opportunity to see historic buildings, the preserved medieval 13th century bridge over the river Monnow (the only one of its kind in Britain) and the famous Nelson Garden. This is truly a small town with a huge array of interesting sights to visit. The surrounding areas are steeped in history too and short drives will take you to nearby Usk, Abergavenny, Ross-on-Wye and even into the spectacular Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
