  • "Such a beautiful cottage located perfectly to explore the area."

10/10 for cleanliness and the little welcome gift is a lovely touch. The hot tub was a perfect addition and we will most certainly be back.

  • "We had a beautiful getaway at Mill Barn (even in the rain)."

The location was great, very central to shops, local villages & towns with great beaches. The barn is very well equipped & spacious the perfect size for a small family. The only thing we would say is the hot tub is a great addition for relaxing after a long day walking & site seeing but it could do with a little TLC. Lovely time had by all, especially our dog, thanks for having us!

  • "The property was just what we were looking for, very relaxing, quiet environment for us and the dogs."

Our only disappointment was we couldn't use the hot tub as the dogs could easily escape the confines of the garden, this also meant harness and leads at all times to ensure they didn't "wander off". We know it said in the listing that the garden wasn't completely enclosed but I think a little more security, especially at the top, wouldn't be too difficult to do. Apart from this we would definitely consider returning and have already mentioned it to a couple of our friends. E & C.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review, we're so pleased you all had an enjoyable stay. We have taken your comments on board and have now secured the garden. Hope to see you again soon. Many thanks Property Owner

  • "The property was advertised as dog friendly."

But the garden was not secure, with drop down a bank to a fast running stream. I had to run the dogs up the lane so they could have a wee etc. Cupboard doors need re aligning in kitchen as many had dropped.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We hope you enjoyed your stay. We have taken all your comments on board, the garden is now secure. Many thanks Property Owner

The cottage was amazing, clean, welcoming and tidy. Mill Barn is furnished to a really high standard throughout, we would definitely recommend to friends and family. One slight issue was that the gate at the rear of the garden has a gap at the bottom which our puppy could have fit under if she unsupervised outside, other than this everything was perfect. Thank you for a fabulous weekend

Everything we could need was provided, including a welcome hamper. The owners were very friendly and helpful when we met them. Easy access to the beaches and sights, and then a return to the hot top, whilst listening to the stream bubbling by. I would highly recommend this cottage.

  • "Cottage itself was very homely."

Lovely big bedroom and comfy bed. Hot tub was fab, especially after a day out walking. Its a great base to see the surrounding areas, it just a bit remote and you have to drive everywhere, but that didn't matter to us. Hosts are very welcoming and provided a hamper on arrival . The only reason we dont give a 5 as we like a fully enclosed garden for the dog and we had to keep him on the lead and be out side with him the whole time as there was areas he could get out. Defintley recommend though.

  • "We had a fantastic time at Mill barn!"

! I truly didn't want to come home! Penny and Peter are just the nicest, kindest and friendliest hosts you could wish for! They left you completely in peace, but were there for you if needed. The barn was such a delight to stay in and the hot tub an absolutely god send for relaxation! We lead a busy life at home so this holiday was just perfect! Our 4 dogs were made completely welcome and the environment was heaven for them! It is located in a perfectly peaceful spot, yet close enough to visit many beautiful places. I highly recommend and will do! Sykes is a fabulous sight and the whole process from start to end was perfectly easy with polite and friendly staff on the other end of the phone. All round an amazing experience and I will definitely use again! A huge thank you to all!

Hot tub was a lovely bonus. It was our first holiday with our dog, so wasn’t sure what to expect as it’s advertised as dog friendly, was pleasantly surprise as it did not smell of other dogs, would definitely return

  • "We were so looking forward to staying here with the brook at the bottom of the garden - it was inaccessible, path overgrown & gate locked!"

The garden is not dog secure as a large gap under the gate. The fridge was so small, there were only 2 of us but not big enough, don't know how a family would manage as can only fit 1 pint milk in the door! The smell of stale dog in the lounge is bad, no doubt the reason for so many air fresheners. The sofas need some decent cushions as quite uncomfortable. It needs a deep clean downstairs as generally grubby unfortunately. The kitchen has literally the bare essentials which in comparison with the other properties of Sykes we have stayed in was a surprise. We had to request a clean of the hot tub after 3 days as it was filthy, not sure it would have happened otherwise. Then it stopped working, they came & mended it but didn't communicate it was done, just a simple thing but adds to the negatives ..... On a positive - lovely huge comfy bed & powerful shower, very handy location too for travelling around. We would not recommend staying here unfortunately, unless the issues are addressed.

Visited during a heatwave and the property was well ventilated with a hot tub as an added bonus. The place was clean and tidy when we arrived and hot tub ready for us after a long journey. The town was close to get anything we needed and still far enough away to feel secluded. Beaches were all driving distance but only short journeys with plenty of places to eat. My only suggestion would be a few additional kitchen bits like cooking oil and cleaning spray for the sides but everything else was easy to find. Thank you for a incredible stay and for the welcome basket, this was a really nice touch!

Spacious and very comfortable. Lovely welcome hamper, even treats for the dogs. Owners were at the end of the garden and always keen to help. Amazing jacuzzi! Big kitchen( though dome instruction on how to use the posh job would have helped.) great area for walking, seclusion and getting away from it all but with Haverfordwest near with all the supermarkets etc. Pub nearby was friendly with a range of good pub grub ( The Masons, 10 min walk). Seal watching is amazing at Martin’s Haven , thanks for the tip to Peter the owner.

  • "This was the first time that we had used Sykes Holidays."

Everything went as planned and the property was as detailed on website. It was very clean and everything catered for - down to a small fridge in the bedroom! The owners welcomed us on the day, but were not intrusive at all although happy to give recommendations if asked. We had booked and paid for our stay prior to a hot tub being installed in the garden and did not use it during our stay so cannot comment on this. The area was lovely to explore and if you book this property you wont be disappointed on its location. However, would advise researching the area for restaurants and book at least a couple of places prior to arrival as we had alot of trouble finding nice places to eat!

We ate breakfast outside most mornings overlooking the stream. Great location for exploring this beautiful part of the UK. Only slight gripe was the poorly equipped kitchen. That said, owners were delightful and very quick to provide a cafetière on request. Never used dishwasher as only 4 plates, mugs etc which were in continuous use. This didn’t spoil what was a lovely week. We would definitely return if visiting area again.
