  • "House spacious, lovely garden and views."

Interior decor and furniture definitely tired and in need of refurbishment. I would have expected much higher standard for price. Not enough kitchen equipment for 5 (and cottage has 8 beds) eg only 4 tumblers , no teapot, no jug for milk or water. No bbq/parasol/deckchairs.

  • "Maes yr Awel is a good sized property for 8 people."

The beds and seating are comfortable, the rooms are a good size, the kitchen well equipped, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. There were a few little niggles : the hot water only works if the heating is on (boiler needs attention), the kitchen taps need fixing, the attic room ensuite is only suitable for young children as the ceilings slope and the bath is tiny - the views from that room though are spectacular.

  • "We enjoyed our stay under difficult circumstances."

I had the feeling that the occupants of the house opposite didn't really appreciate us being on holiday in their village, understandable I suppose with Covid, however they didn't seem particularly friendly, (just my take on it). The house was clean with all the facilities we needed. Criticisms, the outside area has a concrete patio, it could benefit from a rail to prevent toddlers disappearing over the edge onto the lawn, it's a decent drop for a toddler or someone unsteady on their pins. I couldn't unlock the patio doors from the dining room, there must be a nack to it. The upstairs bedroom would benefit a door, this would alleviate noise from the telly downstairs should anyone want to retire to bed early. It's a lovely area and people should not be put off by my comments. I would return without hesitation.
