“Kilgetty heights far surpassed our expectations, we made the booking last minute to have some repair work completed on one of the bathrooms in our care home, meaning one of our residents was accompanied by support staff throughout the stay.”

The home was so fully equipped it made the transition quick and comfortable. Booking was so straightforward, within the hour it was confirmed we could stay, starting later that day. The property is in a great location and the owners have really put alot of effort into the small details for tourists which, although we only came from a few miles away in pembroke dock we were really impressed. They have created the ideal home from home environment for their guests and we would be more than happy to use again.

The property

Situated in the thriving village of Kilgetty, near the Pembrokeshire coastline, is this delightful holiday bungalow Kilgetty Heights.

Internally, the owner has created a smart and warming retreat for friends and families seeking to explore this wonderful coastal area of Wales.

Look forward to spending your evenings in the open-plan living space which has a corner sofa to curl up and unwind, whilst catching up with your favourite shows, or enjoying a family movie night.

Gather at the dining table to enjoy a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal over a well-deserved glass of wine, cooked to perfection in the contemporary and well-equipped kitchen.

Retire to any one of the two well-presented bedrooms, a super-king-size or a ¾ single, perfect for couples with one child.

Each bedroom has a range of furniture to store your personal items, and is supported by a family bathroom with the choice of an elegant bath and walk-in shower cubicle.

Throw open the patio doors from the living room and let the cool breeze wash over the interior before stepping out to the enclosed garden and enjoying a spot of alfresco dining with a refreshing drink on the decking area.

Within walking distance you will come across lots of great amenities including a variety of shops including a Post Office, Co-op store, and hairdressers, as well as cafes, launderette and a variety of takeaways including chinese, indian and chip shop.

For the more adventurous why not take advantage of karting and paint balling which are both available locally.

While you're in the area, take a drive towards Saundersfoot for its large family-friendly beach, perfect for spending your afternoons relaxing on the golden sands or taking a long swim in the clear waters.

Also nearby is St Catherine's Island, spanning across 22,000-acres with beaches, salt marshes and panoramic views.

The bustling town of Tenby also provides a lovely beach for relaxing, whilst also offering a spot of history with Tenby Castle, Tenby Museum and Art Gallery and the National Trust property Tudor Merchant's House, all well-worth a visit.

About the location

Cresswell Quay 2.4 miles; Saundersfoot 3 miles; Yerbeston 3.9 miles; Tenby 5 miles.

The rural village of Kilgetty is situated 2.4 miles from one of the most picturesque villages in Pembrokeshire, Cresswell Quay is best described as a delightful hamlet of scattered cottages at the edge of the tidal estuary. The central focal point is, of course, the old quay where boats can still moor, for the time the tide allows, and you may wish to pop into the Cresselly Arms for light refreshments. Just a short drive from the town of Tenby and offers a selection of shops and pubs, along with its own train station. Kilgetty is central to a number of attractions, with the coastal resorts of Saundersfoot and Tenby nearby, offering fabulous beaches, watersports and boat trips to Caldey Island, the home of a small gathering of monks and their monastery. Also nearby is the award winning Folly Farm, which makes for a great family day out and enables you to see a working farm at its best. Oakwood Theme Park is a 10 minute drive away and boasts the biggest wooden rollercoaster in Europe, whilst the spectacular Pembrokeshire coastline and the coastal National Park, a walker's paradise, are also within easy reach.
