  • "This was by far one of the best cottages we have stayed in."

Quirky, historic and a lovely quiet setting. The hosts were helpful and the welcome pack was amazing. From the big fluffy towels, sharp knives, books and games, beautiful decor, could not fault anything.

Thanks for being great hosts! The cottage is amazingly located, and whilst beside the golf course and within walking distance of the facilities is really amazingly secluded. Will definitely hope to return!

Thank you for your wonderful feedback, we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. We did reach out directly to check what we could have done better rating wise following your booking, as we want to ensure everyone has the best time at Grove Cottage. We discovered our cleaner had missed the shower drain but we can assure you this will now be checked continuously moving forward. Peaceful private garden with pond - rabbits, squirrels, birds, etc - quiet apart from nearby A49. Several steps into rooms with 13 stairs to first floor - Sykes could have explained not suitable for those with mobility issues (we had great difficulty). Wardrobes and freezer would have proved useful. Owners delightful, welcoming and very helpful. On the whole, enjoyable but too expensive.

Thank you for your review, we were thrilled to receive your lovely 'Thank You' card and pleased Mrs Towers enjoyed the hot tub. We hope you will call in to see us when you are next in the area. Kind regards Zena & Roger Property Owner

Very clean and tidy, the hot tub is great and the fire pit is a real treat for the evenings. The cottage is very peaceful and private. Zena is a wonderful host and very helpful. The welcome basket and cake is a real bonus and a lovely surprise. The restaurant at the club is very nice, walking distance with a lovely menu and good food. There is plenty to do locally for day's out. Many thanks for a wonderful and much needed break. Thank you

  • "We loved staying at Grove Cottage!"

It was comfortably furnished with a lovely mix of old and new and very well-equipped. On arrival we found a wonderful welcome hamper, plus milk in the fridge, coffee and tea, and a gorgeous homemade victoria sponge. There were also supplies of toilet rolls, handwash, clingfilm and foil, plus cleaning products. The upstairs is quite dinky, just the two bedrooms, the double a good size, the twin fairly compact, but downstairs has been very imaginatively extended to make a very spacious living space. One point that is not mentioned in the details is that, no doubt as a result of extending an old cottage, there are a lot of changes of floor level downstairs, some actual steps, but some just enough to make a trip hazard until you're used to them. Other than that, the cottage is delightful! There was no shortage of hot water and the heating was easy to control (despite it being June, the weather was so chilly we used it selectively morning and evening). The pretty garden, beautifully maintained, was lovely to sit in when we did get some sun and my husband really enjoyed the hot tub. One final positive in our eyes was that all the windows had blinds or, in the case of the large window in the lounge/diner, thick curtains. On a chilly night, it was nice to be able to close off the encroaching darkness, even though the cottage was secluded, but too many holiday cottages seem to think it unnecessary.

Thank you both for your kind and thoughtful review. We greatly appreciate the time taken to do this and your advice. We have added some extra pans with lids and the door lock which was new but faulty has now been replaced by the Builders Merchant. We hope you will return. Kind regards Zena & Roger Property Owner

We were welcomed by a lovely card, a basket of tasty treats and delicious lemon cake, which was a much needed treat after our long journey to get here. The cottage was clean and well maintained and had everything we needed and the kitchen was very well equipped. The hot tub was a huge bonus and felt very private and secluded of an evening with the garden lights making the space feel cosy. The restaurant at the golf club at the bottom of the track served delicious food and is handy if you don't fancy travelling for food or things to do, but the cottage is also well located for exploring the wider area with plenty of things to see and do a short drive away. The owners provided a folder full of useful information which included nearby attractions and restaurants to visit. Would definitely recommend staying here

  • "Wow what a brilliant retreat."

Repeat visit required for sure! Grove cottage is a beautiful game keepers cottage, just off the beaten track pretty much secluded, in the grounds of a golf course beautiful decor and amenities. Comfortable, clean and it says come back for more. The hamper was the best we've ever had with any break we've had through Sykes, cake, eggs, bread, snacks etc etc even milk.to enjoy a coffee once we arrived and seeming it was our wedding anniversary break Zena and Roger had left us an extra celebratory gift in the fridge to enjoy toasting in the hot tub later. Thank you :-) We enjoyed our time visited the Hickory stick restaurant for the Wednesday Steak and bowl which we couldn't fault with friends who visited for the day but they also do food through out the day starting with breakfast til 6pm. Recommended to friends already and they will be booking up too. Things we did while there, was a trip to the Newcourt cider just down the road, The Bush Inn for a very different afternoon tea, Monkland cheese dairy, local cosy pub in Leominster the White lion and Coffee, cake and more at St Michael's hospice coffee and books. Sure there's lots more to explore yet that we didn't get to do. We did plan to go to Queenswood park/arboretum and a few walks and a visit to the local deli in town but that'll be on the list next time. As you can see a most enjoyable stay.

We very much appreciate your kind comments and look forward to your return. Kind regards Zena & Roger Property Owner

Grove Cottage is an idyllic country retreat in a splendid Grade II listed Game Keepers Cottage designed by John Nash and Humphrey Repton whilst they were working on the Hampton Court Estate for the Arkwright family.

John Nash also designed Buckingham Palace, Marble Arch, Royal Pavilion and Regent Street.

The Cottage design was a template given to many of the Estates and this one was for a Game Keepers Cottage for the Hampton Court Estate.

Situated up a lane on the owner’s farm, in the hamlet of Ford Bridge near Leominster, Herefordshire.

This idyllic country retreat is a perfect choice for families and friends looking to experience the wonders of Herefordshire, with access to plenty of on-site facilities including an 18-hole golf course, ten pin bowling, bar, and a restaurant.

Step inside Grove Cottage, a characterful Game Keepers Cottage with plenty of charm, and you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice box and a breakfast bar.

The ideal space for creating delicious home-cooked meals, the kitchen opens into a spacious living/dining room complete with a woodburning stove and Smart TV, perfect for cosy nights in.

The utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer, so you can easily freshen up your wardrobe.

Wind down the day in one of the two bedrooms, pick from a king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom, both stylishly presented.

Freshen up in the ground-floor shower room before heading out to explore the beautiful countryside.

Finally, make the most of the peaceful location with a glass of something special on the spacious garden patio with furniture, fire pit and hot tub, bringing a touch of luxury to your stay.

Within the grounds you can create some friendly competition- If you enjoy a round of golf then there are two challenging nine hole courses, professionally landscaped with outstanding stone and water features.

Combined with top class playing surfaces, rolling woodland with panoramic views and you can see why this is an excellent challenge whatever your golfing standard, either 9 holes on the original Badger Course, popular with golfers of all levels but particularly loved by less experienced players or when time is a premium.

The Deer Run gives a challenging links type course with large full U.S.G.A․ spec greens and sand tees, giving excellent drainage, playing surfaces and holding Greens.

Both these courses can be played as either 9 holes or combined as 18 holes with professional tuition available and there is Leominster Golf Course next door to us which is an additional 18 holes.

Why not check out the 18 hole Mini Adventure Golf course which has been built to test the putting skills of all ages and abilities and enables everyone to join in the fun with all equipment provided.

To compliment the course, a beer garden has been built with a central oak barn and al fresco seating area.

When it comes to exploring the local area, the historic market town of Leominster is just a brief drive away, where you can peruse the local boutiques, sample some traditional British cuisine, pop into a local bar for a relaxing drink, or visit one of the four museums for a taste of the town’s rich history.
