  • "Perfect holiday from start to finish."

Mandy and Kevin have a beautiful place, imacculately clean inside and out with stunning views and lovely welsh weather too! The dog excersise area was a great bonus and the cottage was kitted out perfectly. There was a really handy information pack inside which was really thoughtful, along with bara brith and a bottle of wine on arrival. The hot tub was lovely and used many times, rain or shine, with fantastic views to boot. Plenty around in the local areas to explore and further afield too. Diolch yn fawr both for your kind hospitality. We will be back!

Thank you so much for taking the time to Review Gwennol cottage and for leaving such kind words. We're so pleased you all had an enjoyable stay. We hope to see you again, one day. many thanks indeed. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was in a beautiful location with great access to nearby towns and attractions (Paxtons Tower, Llandeilo, Aberglasney Gardens, Black Mountain, The National Botanic Gardens to name a few)."

The cottage was spotless and the beds were very comfortable; my partner enjoyed the hot-tub on several occasions. The facilities for our dogs were excellent - a separate area close by to exercise them was very welcome, especially with the inclement weather. Towels and bed linen were provided, and a welcome pack of wine, milk, bara brith and coffee were a very considerate provision. We would definitely recommend this cottage

  • "The cottage is in a great location for exploring the South Welsh coast as well as the Brecon Beacon."

It is one of the best cottages we have stayed in; quiet, private, clean, comfortable and with great views. It had everything we needed. The hot tub was also a welcome treat after spending the day walking. There were 2 other cottages on site as well as the owner”s home but it did not feel overcrowded, noisy or overlooked. We very briefly saw the other guests during our stay. The owner, Mandy, welcomed us on the first day and we knew they were available if any issues. We would highly recommend Gwennol Cottage and we are already looking to rebook in the near future. Thank you Mandy and Kev. Vanessa and Andrew

  • "Great location with beautiful views from the garden and plenty to see and do, whatever your preferences!"

Semi-detached cottage (with an apparently closed-off interconnecting door) was rather unexpected, but in our case, the noise disturbance from our neighbour was minimal. Well-equipped facilities inside.

  • "Beautiful cottage ."

Well equipped and comfortable the beautiful views across the valley were somewhat spoiled by dog fouling signs .I sat out in the sun and my eyes were drawn to the 4 signs , less signs would have made it more welcoming and relaxing . Luckily we had great weather for our week and periods of quiet peace .

None of us wanted to leave. So happy we booked here for a 2nd year in a row. The recent refurbishments improved on our first visit which is impressive in itself as I didn't think our first visit could have been improved! Turns out the Hot Tub was an unknown missing piece ;)

  • "A great place to stay."

We enjoyed the hot tub with a view. The property has recently been renovated and is beautifully kept and really well equipped. It’s a great location with lots to see and do locally but also easy to explore further into both the Brecon Beacons and Pembrokeshire. We would definitely recommend staying here.

  • "When we arrived we were met y Mandy the owner, it was pointed out to us that the booking had slipped through the net as they wanted to book out our cottage to continue with restoration work."

This did not make us feel especially wanted. We suffered from a problem with the downstairs toilet which continued to flush until we took the lid of and fiddled with it. The bath water was never warm enough for a bath even after 3 times of trying. Then the heating went off, when we asked for it to be turned on again, and be aware the radiators were stone cold when we ask the male owner appeared and said the heating was on 24/7 strangely enough as he arrived the radiators started to warm (luke warm) up, strange that. He insisted the heating did not go off. However after that there was never a problem, strange again. The heating and water were controlled centrally from am app on his phone and this is the first time ever we have not had control of said heating personally. His excuse was that so many visitors believed they had the right to turn heating on and leave it on umm what am I paying my rental fee for. The weather was dismal and cold and we had to sit in a cold house after getting very damp walking our dog. So his bad experience meant we suffered. Now to the point that when we mentioned the toilet problem and the inability to run a hot bath he told us, "The water was on demand but would never cope with filling a bath, oh and yes those are things we know about and are getting fixed in the refit" it would have been useful to know that beforehand rather than suffer the frustration of having to repeatedly try.
