I'd seen some negative reviews after booking, but they're old reviews - some had mentioned the velux window leaking etc., and the pub not being great. I think the pub is under new ownership, sadly we didn't get to try it as its being renovated. The window was replaced a couple of years ago. We had heavy rain but no leaks.
Everything was very clean and tidy. The balcony area could do with some fresh paint, and some more towel hooks would be handy in the bathroom.
Baskets or something would have been helpful under the beds in the twin room, as I had to store the children's tee shirts etc. under their beds due to lack of storage.
We would probably choose to stay nearer to the seaside next time but Rowan Lodge was fine for us for a week.
