  • "We found the lodge to be everything we expected and wanted."

We were very cozy comfortable and at home until the manager came (I believe to welcome us) and made us super on guard when he made a point of informing us we had left the ge outside light on, almost demanded to meet our dog and implied she should be running in the dog field provided or down in the beach rather than lying in the chalet, when said field was visited we found it not to be fenced and thus not really safe for dogs to run off the lead. It was a shame that the "welcome" visit did not feel so welcome and our stay became stilted and stiff from the relaxed it had been. It's a lovely place, in so many ways and without that visit would have been a fabulous stay recommended to everyone.

  • "What an amazing stay!"

The lodge was perfect - couldn’t fault it in anyway - clean and modern with excellent facilities. Enclosed garden was great so that our two dogs had a place to play safely. Only wish the weather had been on our side so that we could have sat outside to enjoy the patio and fire pit! The owners are lovely so friendly and helpful. Communication was excellent - the Bara brith and dog biscuits were such a lovely touch. 5 stars just isn’t enough only wish we could have given more!! Thank you for a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back in the future! Lesley, Emily & Fur babies Malibu & Bailey x

  • "We left a day early and put this holiday down as a poor experience."

Though immaculately presented Skomer lodge is sandwiched in between a new build site of about 20 houses and the owners house and garden. The owner has a construction project or similar in his garden or grounds which was pretty relentless power tool noise from 8.00am onwards. No lazy lie ins here. We did politely mention the noise a couple of times and were promised it would stop, but it didn’t until the last Friday, when we simply chose to leave. The owners clearly knew this was an issue and offered us a cake to apologise. Will never go back or recommend. Waste of a week.

Owners really helpful and when I made an enquiry if there was a fan at property they immediately responded with" we will happily provide one". The garden was so so safe and private especially for the dogs. The welcome " pack" was great ( especially the bara brith and proseco) . We had such a lovely time we are going back in August!

  • "Lovely accommodation, very well equipped, lovely location and setting and very friendly owners."

The only real downer on the week was there was a bonfire lit virtually every week evening and we couldn't enjoy the garden in the evening and had to close windows and doors and stay inside, as my wife suffers from COPD a lung infection that severely affects her breathing. There are also building works going on in close proximity that we should have been warned about before booking. Fortunately it was on the other side to us ,and didn't impact on our stay to much. But overall very happy and would book again in the future.

  • "Skomer lodge is lovely, clean and comfortable with a safe envionrment even for my little escape artist terrier in a beautiful part of Wales."

I would recommend a stay here but only when the construction work is complete. Building work is currently going on behind the lodge so I was woken before 8 am every morning by vehicle reversing alarms. This was very disappointing as I had booked the stay to catch up on sleep and relax in the garden which the construction noise interrupted. I understand that this is not the owner’s fault but feel I should have been made aware of the works prior to booking.

The cleanest placed we have ever stayed with fantastic facilities and in a great location. Owners were available but didn't bother anyone and super friendly and accommodating. Would absolutely recommend with or without dogs. If you do have dogs is super safe. Stay here, it's fantastic and sits in a beautiful part of lovely Wales!

Local pub castle inn , has amazing food , Manorbier beach was fab , within walking distance, car park is there too. Went on train to Tenby . Peaceful area, Will come and again . Downside : No cleaning products for bathroom, kitchen ,only washing up liquid . No tinfoil to use in oven , no kitchen roll, Would preferred bath sheets instead of bath towels. Perfectly located for Tenby and the surrounding areas. Chosen as it was dog friendly but this is no ordinary dog friendly accommodation. The lodge is absolutely pristine, and the decor and furniture to a higher standard than most. Enclosed garden at the back and veranda to the front was perfect for our blind dog, perfectly secure. For the humans the tea, coffee, milk (and prosecco if you want it) on arrival was a nice tough. Well equipped, everything you need for a holiday is provided in the lodge, torch, tea towel, sponge, washing up liquid, hairdryer, iron. It just feels like the owners really take pride in their accommodation and want their guests to have the best stay. The little extra touches they have provided don't go unnoticed. Thank you.
