We enjoyed the views and if it wasn't for the weather would have spent more time outdoors on the lush green grass. There's plenty to do within 10 miles and some fantastic places to eat. The only downside was we could only do one washing load for the week, athough we didn't persue the opportunity to pay for a second, and the machine itself is locked away as they mentioned that those outside of letting were using it.

The on-site owner greeted us on arrival and we were made to feel very welcome, they mentioned that the property had been recently painted throughout and was very clean. It was a quiet, idyllic location with green fields all around and the view from the kitchen window was so beautiful I did not mind washing up! lol. We had near enough everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. I would of liked to see an ironing board and iron in the property and also maybe an air fryer as easier and quicker to cook food. Thank You Very Much we had a really comfortable, relaxed and chilled out Easter Bank Holiday Weekend.

So glad Mum and son enjoyed their weekend stay in our idyllic country setting inRagland. Property Owner

  • "Following an issue with our original booking where we were double booked we were offered Pheasant Two, a bit further away from home but it turned out to be far better than we expected."

From being met by Carmen the owner as we arrived, finding a lovley warm inviting little cottage with a well equipt kitchen and fresh tea and coffee, nice comfy lounge with dining table, Freeview TV, comfy sofa and chairs to the nice powerful shower, comfy bed (we only used one...of the two available) and good wi-fi, it was everything you'd expect and wast most welcome for our first break away in nearly a year. Lovley location and easy to get places if you have a car. Take a wander around the houses large farm which gives some lovley views over the area. We did trips to Abergeveny, Monmouth, Usk, Raglan, Chepstow where theres some lovley walks (The Eagles Nest nr Chepstow recommended but theres a lot of steps .. hint go left from the lower car park and whilst its a steep climb up, you then come down the steps..all 380+ of them rather than have to climb up them!). Only other thing to advise is that there are still a lot of restrictions in place so we found a lot of places closed and places to visit or restuarants/pubs a bit difficult to get into as you needed to pre-book and most were full......But all in all a lovley place and I'd recommend to anyone for a nice gentle break....

The Brace

The Brace lies in a peaceful spot in the Monmouthshire countryside between Usk and Raglan, on the outskirts of the village of Llandenny. The farm plays host to two wonderful holiday cottages, The Pheasant 1 & 2. Both properties are single-storey and feature a clean and contemporary interior with modern kitchens, wooden floors and tasteful furnishings. Outside there is an off-road parking space per cottage, as well as large shared lawn areas that are fenced off from the road and offer the perfect place for relaxing with kids. The cottages at The Brace are situated just outside of the village of Llandenny, a rural settlement that consists of a number of houses, a pub and plenty of walking trails. Nearby is the market town of Usk with plenty of small shops and places to eat, as well as a castle and fascinating Town Trail with 28 sites of historic interest acknowledged by Blue Plaques. Raglan is also close by with its own castle and the city of Newport is within driving distance offering plenty of modern amenities.
