  • "An absolutely delightful, homely and inviting little cottage."

Fabulous log burner, cosy sitting room and well equipped kitchen. Wonderful, cared for garden, lots of places to sit and enjoy the view. Very good communication with owners

  • "Lovely cottage, full of charm and it had everything you could want."

Nice history attached to the place too. Loved it.

  • "Some aspects of the property need upgrading namely better cutlery, shed needs painting,+garden wall, lounge couch worn out."

Thank you for your feedback. The owner has advised that they are aware of the shed roof needing painting but this needs to be done when no one is staying and they have had back to back bookings. They believe the wall, sofa and cutlery are fine and no one else has mentioned these. They brought extra things you asked for during your stay including a different BBQ, knife sharpener and a new tin opener, despite one being found in the drawer after your stay. The property generally gets excellent feedback but we appreciate your comments and hope you had a lovely stay. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful traditional cottage but with everything you need to make it a comfortable holiday, the garden was such a fabulous bonus and really pretty too, the dog loved it and so did we, its a 3 storey cottage, so living room first, you go upstairs to bedroom and lovely shower room and then you go down from living room to the kitchen then out to back garden."

Can't fault it at all loved this holiday

  • "It was all so welcoming, homely and cosy it was perfect."

Truly "dog friendly," and our old dog loved it. Linda and Paul really care about this holiday cottage down to a photo-history of the original owner, Johnny the post, who lived to 104. Very conveniently located to access this beautiful region.

Stayed for a week it was just like home from home had everything inside didn't want for nothing. Excellent location close to beaches etc wish we could have stayed longer highly recommend this cottage.

  • "Cosy cottage lovely garden."

The cleaning was not to covid standard, some bowls cups cutlery not clean sadly, Bedroom very noisy with traffic so close to road so didn't get any sleep from about six ish, as not used to traffic being so close, Shower not very good, woke up with no power in taps or shower working at all, didn't find out till hours after there was a burst pipe. Wrong time to visit too as most places we wanted to visit were on lockdown, Was meant to stay 7 days left after three days, when messaged owner to say was leaving she was rude, so not a good holidays Ended up going to Cornwall had agreat time, with covid friendly cottage, with hand sanitiser and a list of how they have clean and replaced items

  • "Had a lovely time at Johnnys Cottage."

The cottage was spotlessly clean, the kitchen is lovely and the location is great for touring South Wales. Had a minor glitch on arrival. The wrong key had been left for us, so couldn't gain access!!!!! However, after a phone call, the correct key was delivered with profuse apologies, and we entered. The only shortcomings were very noisy, heavy trucks passing the bedroom window, all night, for the first couple of nights, which made sleeping very difficult. It did quiten down after that and we slept well. Also, the Freeview on the TV was dreadful. Most of the programmes dated back to the middle ages!!!! The log burner was a delight. With that and the boiler fed central heating, the cottage is lovely and snug. Would definitely recommend.

Layout could be awkward if you struggle with stairs. Thankfully we don't so was not a problem.

The cottage was lovely, great if you want to get away from it all. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water and the shower worked well. Good place for visiting South Wales.

  • "The cottage was even better than described, the photos don't do it justice!"

As soon as we walked through the door we felt relaxed and at home. There has been a great attention to detail throughout. Though the lounge and the bedroom are small the storage has been cleverly hand made to accommodate all of your stuff with ease. There are games, DVD's and books, however, the TV was a bit too small. There are lots of neat little touches like nightlights, picnic blankets, a flask, cafetiere and a much welcome, welcome pack. We didn't use the log burner but if you did there were plenty of logs provided. The garden is delightful with seating areas, a lovely lawn, birdsong and a babbling brook. The kitchen was a good size with plenty of cupboard space and every utensil you would need. If you stay here you have to drive everywhere if you want to get supplies or go out for a meal. The local pub doesn't do food and there is nowhere within walking distance. It's a quick drive into St Clears or a little further to Laugharne or Camarthen. There's loads to do in this part of Wales and the cottage is well located within reach of the coast, the Brecon Beacons and Pembrokeshire.

The owners have made this a home from home. Clean, comfy. warm (almost wished it was cold so we could light the log burner!)everything you need and more and a smashing bottle of wine. Very dog friendly, secure garden, toys, treats, excellent. Situated in a pleasant little village. It is on the road so some traffic noise but we dident find it a problem. Lovely places to sit outside, a real sun trap. There are stairs to each room so may be difficult for the less mobile. Think it would be great in the winter months as heating and log burner would make for a cosy stay, Plenty of wood and coal provided. It was like visiting Gran as a kid, we loved it and hope book again soon.
