  • "Everything about the place was great, the only thing that was a little annoying was being told that charging the car via electric would be £20, after explaining it wasn't a full electric vehicle and it would only take about £2 of charge, then we weren't charged."

But working for a car dealership, even if we were to fully charge our full electric vehicle it takes about £8 for a full 300 mile charge. I get it is a new issue to deal with, but need to update terms and conditions on the rental. and figure out a way to deal with it fairly, I would have loved to have re-topped up as obviously its better for the environment etc. But i'm not sure how you would police the difference between full electric and partial electric vehicles. maybe look into something that monitors electric usage and give a certain amount free to each customer? we didn't use washer etc, which would add up to more than the few £'s we put into our car. yet were made to feel bad about it ( not that you tried to make us feel bad )

  • "The Smithy is an ideal cottage to stay in , it has beautiful surroundings and is very quiet and peaceful."

It is an ideal base to travel to many beautiful surroundings . We managed to walk a few miles on the Pembrokeshire pathway with a four month old and in the evenings returned to cook ourselves an evening meal and relax in the Smithy . It have a great space in the kitchen and is well equipped for cooking . The second bedroom is small but that was fine for us .The main bedroom had ample room for a travel cot . We have rented many cottages in the past and the Smithy certainly come up in our top ten ! We would definitely recommend and would love to return in the Autumn

Glorious sunshine, g&t! 2 dogs and a cat adopted☺. Negatives= none. Lovely owners, wonderful peaceful location, great country lane walks. Will definitely be back. Was nearly too warm to light log burner at night! Cleanliness was 10/10 and advice on own towels, pillows, sanitizer etc really helpful.

  • "Lovely converted barn in a rural location."

It does mean you have to drive to get anywhere but that didn’t really matter. Surprised by the standard of the accommodation which was better than we could have hoped. If you want somewhere to just switch off and take a rest, this is the place. Not difficult to find some little gems in Narberth which was no more than a 30 minute drive. Apart from the last 5 minutes of our journey which had lots of twists and turns, the roads were really good and the directions were very clear. The views alone were amazing shared with the sheep and donkey. Owners very friendly. Will definitely be booking another week away in the future.

It is beautifully designed, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We had difficulty with the internet connection but if you choose to stay in a remote but beautiful location you should expect it really. It’s a great base for exploring south, west and mid wales.

  • "Very well equipped, and well presented."

Everything was very clean and modern. Spacious kitchen and lounge areas. All the hot water you need. Nice quiet location. Friendly owners (and their dogs and cats were also friendly!). Great patio and lawns (pity there was no patio furniture to relax into). Only one minor niggle : using the shower over bath was a bit dodgy for us oldies as there was no non-slip mat or grab handles (the moulded in non-slip surface was at the wrong end of the bath).

The second bedroom had nowhere to hang anything, drawers or mirror. The internet kept dropping out which was very irritating. Just enough to leave us with a feeling of discontent

  • "The Smithy was perfect!"

We had extensitively searched to find a beautiful place in a beautiful setting far away from the hustle and bustle of every day life and it was just that! Wonderful fully equipped kitchen, which was important as we wanted to spend our evenings in. Comfort was not spared in the messazine sitting room with views across the hills. The two double bedrooms were exactly that, two comfortable double beds, not a master bedroom and a bed settee as in so many places. Rolling communal gardens and a sunny patio could also be enjoyed. On arrival there was a lovely welcome pack of essentials and a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates. The hosts were friendly and looked after our needs. Our only suggestions would be to have a curtain or blind at the master bedrooms window which looks out over the family garden, which they use a lot in the evenings. Also the second bedroom although providing a very comfortable bed had no facilities for clothes etc. Maybe some staggered shelving behind the door would solve this. Regarding the information on the website, we would suggest it should state “ no pets as the owners have cats and dogs”. The place was so lovely that we coped with that, but we had carefully looked for somewhere that didn’t allow pets due to an allergy. We had an absolutely fabulous week at The Smithy and have already recommended it to friends. Fran and Jen. Somerset.
